What does transmission performance low mean?

What should I do when I recieve an error message saying that the transmission performance is low ?

Stop using it for sure, with any trans issues

All you can do, is go to a repair or trans shop
for advice

yet another post with no country, like most here, and FAILED.
what does holds in low gear mean.?
try to know that engine power and a/t shift points are complex.
means, tell what works and not, pretend the helper is blind
and has no hands nor legs. bingo.?

now my wild guess, based off 2 words.
hold and lowgear.
i guess you are saying the engine runs perfectly with full power.
but the transmission will not auto up shift from 1st gear to 2nd,
is this correct?
if yes,
  1. check transmission fluid levels. do not overfill it, or guess.
  2. check fuses, we test them.
  3. if the trans , fails, now, the Diesel has a special version of the transmission, not petrol box. and most have an external TCM controller, unlike ours, totally. but it must be SCANNED.
  4. or you will never know why failing !
  5. The scans will show errors, telling you why the TCM tranny brain, can not shift, (sensors errors? comm errors/ many...)
  6. there you go, there is more, but illl stop here, the service manual tells you in clear English , all on car checks for tranny. if read.

my WG book, shows even Diesel shift'er module, is unique
and can not communicate, and fail.
and the TCM is controlling all this.

Learn to scan all modern cars first (means 96'+)
and save time, and money.
guessing will not work. sorry.

if you had scanned it and posted errors we could wax 10x more savvy, for sure.
  1. buy a scanner use it. (save big money for life of car)
  2. Get it scanned. (all shops can)
  3. call mobile car service, and they scan it?
  4. tow car to any shop they scan it.
our cars show P07xx codes. for trans or P17xx.
in Europe they have EOBD, (simular to our OBD2, we invented)
so that is your tool, that works. (wild guessing country I am)

P27xx , are all trans errors, lots

this means the PCm can not talk to the TCM box.
if it cant, the the PCm can not send engine load data to it.
or worse.
service manual, WG , chapter 21, covers all this.

more likely transmission fluid temperature sensor faulty.your transmission fluid could be low and transmission fluid could be old contaminated.

Gearbox fault message on dash shows up on ny 2003 jaguar x type why?

Ok, so if your lucky you need to just have the fluid in your transmission. (if it's a manual anyway) If you want to give a shot at fixing it yourself. Go buy some lucas trans conditioner, cleaner or similar product, 7 quarts dex III mercon. Put the cleaner (transmission additive to dissolve sticky old trans fluid from parts) Run it for about a 100 - 300 miles, pull the drain plug on the bottom of the transmission, let it fully drain, then put the 7 quarts of fluid you bought earlier in. The light basically means that you are low on fluid or that a solenoid is sticking maybe. Since this is a manual gearbox there isn't any dipstick to check the fluid.check your manual for the suggested millage that you should service the gearbox. I would say 50k - 75k would be a safe bet unless you notice it has been leaking fluid, or that there is always a drop or two. Then it might lose enough to be low sooner then that. Don't just try to add fluid as there isn't anyway to tell if you overfilled it and that will do nothing to improve it's performance only add stress to the seals.

Got a display message "Reduced Engine Power" the

When you receive this message it means that the computer has put the engine and components into protection mode. This computer has done this to prevent any further damage to the engine or transmission. You have to have the computer of the vehicle scanned to find the problem then you need to get it fixed right away. It could be a number of different causes overheating,Low Oil Pressure,Transmission pump problem, low coolant level, low oil level. Their is really no way of telling from this end without seeing the vehicle.Start by checking all fluid levels, Oil,Coolant,Transmission.If all this is good scan the computer with a OBII scanner or take it to a garage and get it scanned. It may just be something simple or it could be something very serious.Do not drive the vehicle it is worth the cost of a tow truck to prevent further damge if you can not determind the cause and fix it yourself.

Error message says "Stop Car too Low"

it means the tire is in danger of contacting the inner fender, is it low in front on the right side? if not the ride height sensor is most likely defective.
