Rear knocking 2000 impala

A broken sway bar will also manifest itself while driving over an uneven or washboard-like road surface. A clanking or clunking sound will emanate from the front or rear suspension. Broken sway bars will emit knocking and scraping noises over potholes and dips, sometimes rhythmically. This happens when a sway bar bushing joint swings freely without support and strikes the chassis frame or control arm. Hope this helps.

Have a raddeling noise in the front suspension golf3 gts

Why would you waste money on springs?

They won't make a noise or ever need replacing

Find the cause of the issue that bothers you first

Tie rod end don't make noise

I would think exhaust converter shield or any part of the
exhaust system that is rusted, would vibrate

Any vacuum hoses or parking cables ,could make a noise,
if hitting the floor pan or other parts of the car

Top shock bushings that are completely gone, rattle

Top Strut Bearing Plates on top of front struts make noise

Stabilizer Bushings may need replacing

Body Mount Bushings front or rear,if that was what was
changed so far

Terrible grinding/scraping noise from rear somewhere. replaced all rotors and pads. no difference. it is only intermittent and worse on bumpy streets

i would start by checking your shocks and springs make sure they are not broken and are functioning correctly,, the springs you can do a visual inspection on, and the shocks you might be able to see at the same time. if your car can easley be bounced up and down in the rear that could be a sign that new shocks are needed, look under your wheelwell at the topside too see if the tires are rubbing at the top, would be another sign. look for clean spots or rubber marks.. also check muffler make sure you have nothing dragging if its close to the ground its probily not right and will drag on bumpy streets or when you hit potholes..

Struts make noise. At how many miles is recommended replacement?

That's a tough one...because there are too many factors/variables. How you drive, how the roads are, potholes, etc.. But normally, you should get at least 40k-60k. And that's conservative. My 1999 Taurus has the original struts at 140K. If the strut makes noise, then maybe it has been damaged from a one time pothole, or curb, etc.. If so, the strut has lost it's gas/oil and it will start to chatter. Hope this helps a little.

2001 pt cruiser hear a thump noise

This is either caused by a wore out strut/shock in the rear of the car or a broken spring.
