Sounds like you have a leak in the system. If you are not familiar with the components of an AC system, you should take it and have it inspected.

SOURCE: ac compressor would not come

the refrigerant that you add may not build up the required pressure to close the switch. sincd you noticed already that the system would not hold the charrge then you have a big leak.

you need to find that leak first, repoair it then charge it.

if you know how to do it then you will save a lot of money but it need a professional to do it plus the extra special tools that you require in order to do that.

you could trace all your outside lines for oil stains in the hoses, compressor, condenser, drier, fittings. if you can not see any sign of leak, then it could be in the evaporator coil which is covered by a plastic housing near the blower compartment.
that you can not see if there is leak so you have to bring it down. if you have a big book for your car, there could be a step by step preocedure on how to bring it down. follow it carefully and observe where the screws and bolts came from in order not to interchange them.

if you notice an oil spot or a rainbow once you immerse the evaporator in wter, then the leak is in the evaporator.

i hope i was able to FIX your problem

No power to compressor 2 pounds of Freon compressor, expansion valve, dryer condenser an high pressure switch new.

I would say that with 2 lbs of Freon in the system that the high pressure switch is stopping the compressor from working and being destroyed from liquid on top of the pistons. An ac system works by compressing gas to liquid and then releasing that liquid through a small orifice into a vacuum created by the ac compressor .With excessive liquid then that turning to gas situation will not occur and liquid will get to the pistons and stop the piston movement. I recommend that you take it to a ac specialist and have the system pumped down into a receiver tank and then the correct amount of refrigerant gas added .

The air conditioning on my 2003 Corolla has recently stopped working. It happened after being on a rocky dirt road. I looked inside and didn't see any coolant, so filled with water to see if there was...

First of all, the AC has nothing to do with the coolant in the radiator, they are two different systems. You need to have an AC technician check for refrigerant leak in your AC system.
As far as getting rid of the water you added to the coolant, depending on how much of the total capacity you filled, you may have to drain the entire system and refill with a 50/50 mixture.

Ac was running when driving to the store, stopped to gas car then on the way out turned on ac no air coming out and the ac light does not turn on. i checked the fuses all are working but no power running...

Most likely the AC compressor clutch isn't engaged. This happens when the refrigerant pressure switch doesn't detect pressure in the coolant lines. The cause is usually a refrigerant leak.

This way the AC compressor is protected from running dry and possible damage.

Let your local repairshop check AC line pressure - if no pressure, look for the leak first then refill with fresh refrigerant.

How is the best way to recharge freon in the ferrari 328.? any common point of freon leakage?

All vehicles will leak a miniscule amount of freon from the seals throughout the coolant lines, you can use a leak detector additive when adding freon or use a freon gas leak detector to find any substantial leaks in the system by guiding the probe around all the components while the vehicle and ac are running. You could use a heldheld freon charger with a built in pressure guage provided you have the correct fittings, otherwise I'd recommend having both your low/high pressure sides monitored while adding freon and making sure your compressor is turning on and off properly as the high pressure side reaches its peak.

No the only thing wrong with this vehicle is the R134 gas is low thats all ,after about 2/3 years from new they need re-gassing then as vehicle get older you have to top it up with gas more often ,.this vehicle holds about 700/800 grms of gas and i reckon its down to about 200 grms of gas so air con is still coming on but its taking a while to cool ,not a problem at all just get it regassed or buy a can of gas if available in your country and connect it to low pressure side of AC its the smaller valve ,then start engine and put AC on and let it **** in the gas from the refill can but do not overfill it will not be any colder but it will keep clicking in and slowing the engine and then clickinig out again .If you fill with one can a year if that and only put 500 grms a time in in the spring no problem .R134 gas is more corrosive that the old R12 so its tends to leak through the seals ,happens to all cars ,this is not a problem if you like it buy it but i hope its a diesel model with manual gearbox as this is worth more money for when you decide to sell it

Heater wont work, and check engine light came on

Low coolant, keep eye on temp if you plan to drive it before adding antifreeze, if it never gets hot you are COOKING! the engine, Would recommend checking fluid before driving again.
Never drive with NO coolant vehicle shouldent even be started without it.

1996 toyota tercel air conditioner will not work

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Let us try to help.

Yes, you read correctly; if the refrigerant charge is low,or the refrigerant has leaked out, the AC compressor will not activate. Pressure switches built into the system inturupt the power to the AC clutch if there is insufficient system pressure.

I would suggest taking the vehicle to a qualified garage, and have the service tech there hook his set of 'AC Gauges" to the car. After he does that, he can tell you if you need a partial charge, of if you system is empty. I would def recommend the car be checked with the AC gauges; as adding refrigerant to the system without knowing how much is currently in it can damage the compressor.

Thanks for choosing FixYa for advice!

My ac does not work properly when I add freon the ac will work well for about 5 minuted then will blow warm air hoping some one could give me an idea what might be wrong, ie what to replace to fix it.

does the compressor keep cycling on and off ? if so then it is low on refrigerant causing the cycling, sometimes you have to bypass the compressor pressure switch to stop it from cycling long enough to get enough refrigerant in the system, but of course you need to check for a leak if you are trying to recharge the unit then add a refrigerant with dye solution in it to locate any leaks, note leaks and then evacuate system amd rapair the leak source and then draw the system down add the proper compressor oil or refreigerant with oil in it. you may want to have a qualified AC repair facility do this , so they can properly evacuate and recover the refrigerant material... thanks , please rate my help...
