It wi9ll be possible to do this but you will face problems with the spigot bearing in the crankshaft for the clutch shaft and clutch mounting to the engine flywheel . The adaptor can be made by a quality engineering shop and you will be looking at engine mount modifications. Do your home work carefully as it could amount to be a costly exercise for little gain

A cheap way is to buy a stereo adapter for your vehicle. It shows the wiring diagram. This adapter is when you are replacing the radio with an aftermarket one

98 Dodge Durango goes into gear but wont move?

How much transmission fluid did you put back in. If you didn't put enough it might not get the pressure it needs to change gears. If you put too much then it creates bubbles and foams and it will cause big problems as well. The 42/44RE transmission takes 12 pints (6 quarts) if the transmission was completely overhauled, torque converter was replaced or drained, and cooler was flushed. The 46RE takes the same amount. When adding transmission fluid you only bring it to the minimum level. After that you drive around and let it get warmed up for a while then when you check it, it should be at the max level.

Legally, you can not put an older motor into a newer vehicle due to emissions laws. You can always put a newer engine (usually manufactured to meet newer emissions specs) into an older vehicle, but not vice-versa. There's issues with the computer and vin # when you change from one factory engine to a different type as well.

Yes. They should both be 46RE transmissions and the bolt patterns and the plugs should be the same.

Page 63. It seems as though you have your transmission in Manual Program. Normal driving should use Adaptive program.

Or, your transmission is slipping.

1998 dodge durango 4x4 automatic transmission, found part in pan

It is the band strut for the kickdown band. The band is worn out and got too loose and the strut fell out. You can put it back and see how it works but you will need to remove the valve body to get it back in. It is for 2nd gear. Does the transmission hold 1st up to about 25 miles per hour and then shift right to 3rd.
