Is the 'check engine light' on? A good starting point is to have the car scanned for trouble codes..Trouble codes will identify what component or part of the car's operating system is faulty.

SOURCE: Chrysler 300 3.5 v6 Slight engine knock - oil always changed

I have a 2006 with a 3.5 (41,000 miles). No oil consumption but had the knock. Started as a slight knock and continued to get louder. My buddy works at the dealer and hooked me up. Chrysler knows about this problem, it's the rocker arm assembly coming apart. They have a new revised part to fix the problem. THEY NEED TO RECAL THIS.

2000 toyota Avalon engine light on and car loses power or pressure when driving. Appears to shift into another gear or decreases gears

It is running in limp in mode you need to take it to autozone and get engine codes or go to toyota and have them pull codes, you could damage the car if you keep driving it. Without the codes it's hard to tell whats wrong, but be sure engine oil is full and the transmisson oil is full and the water in the radiator iss full, don't trust the overflow tank and check the radiator when cold.

Avalon knocking

Hi, airjeff8

In a nutshell, you need to get the valve cover off and see whats going on under there. It could be a broken camshaft or a valve/spring issue amongst other things.

Whip the cover off and have a look.

Geordie
