Question about 1996 Chevrolet K1500
If the 2001 tranny is the same as the 96 Silverado tranny, (mine was the 4L60E) then it should fit. If it is a different tranny, then the driveshaft may be a different length. Good luck!

I don't think so, the 5.0 and 5.7 have a different bolt pattern than the 4.8 and 5.3 litre engines
