I had a similar problem. I found that the new alternator was defective. Please have it tested, or get a digital multimeter to see how many volts is being put out.

Charging voltage to battery should be;
13.6 to 14.2 - the lower the voltage the higher the charging amps i.e:
13,6 = 55 amps
14.2 1209 amps
example only.

2000 GMC Jimmy 4.3L CSEFI won't crank. Fuel pressure is 50psi and should be between 55 to 60psi. Fuel filter 1yr old and fuel pump is probably stock & needs replaced but never had problem before...

Check your starter and check your connections to make sure they are clean and tight. The low fuel pressure won't cause a no crank. Too low could cause a no start but not a no crank. I've had starters be bad right out of the box. But if that starter motor isn't turning either the starter motor is bad or the solenoid attached or the wiring to it is at fault.

Check your fuel regulator on also check your injectors - if you have a CSFI injection system you may want to replace it with a MFI upgrade kit. Trust me. - CSFI sucks

I need to replace fuel pump on 2000 jimmy

ok, it should be a module unit. you will need to drop the tank and get the code off the top to identify correctly (ex:fci) be sure to replace the fuel filter as this usally causes the problem. be sure to release the fuel pressure and disconnect the battery or fuel pump fuse. NEVER USE A DROP LIGHT UNDER THE VEHICLE this can cause an explosion. drop the tank and remove the unit.

My 2000 gmc jimmy will not start. It will turn

Have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the test port on the rear of the intake, drivers side. You can get a fuel pressure tester for about 40 dollars at a part store. It is a real good tool to have in your toolbox. If your Jimmy can't build 55 psi, it won't start.

2001 gmc jimmy not starting

Did they do a fuel pressure pressure test to determine that its fuel pump? And if so what was the p.s.i.?It should be around 55 to 60 p.s.i. a few pounds under 55 p.s.i. Pump needs replaced, Your shop should have chk. this when it was there the first time. Did they by chance chg. the fuel filter, that can hinder it from starting too.
