Have you measured the voltage @ the fuel pump or are assuming it has no power because it's not turning on? with that age of vehicle it could be corrosion of the electrical connectors. You really need to measure the voltage at the fuel pump to ensure no power is getting to it. If it has power, then likely the fuel pump sender unit (replace entire mechanism), if no power, then likely corrosion of the connectors.

SOURCE: M43 engine wont start, fuel pump maybe?

Does it crank when you try to start it?
Does it even makes the effort to hump a little and the goes off again?
Probably a good tune-up and a new gas pump and fuel filter and you should be good to go.

the fuses u are looking for are as follows:
From the top left first row its# 4

I also wanted to point out. from 1989 to 1996 the brake switch was the common failure for bmw's
the series it included were 318i, 525-540i, and all 7 series. if the fuses dont fix it.. its the switch

Fuel pump may be getting weak. If pressure is not high enough the injectors wont open.

Battery drains in my 1984 BMW 318i

I have the same car I had the same problem. If you have the correct battery for your car with the same problem you have a short or positive ground in your dash/electric fuel pump/fuse box also be carefull of how you take the key from the ignition and if they're old replace them.

1994 BMW 318i where is the fuel pump relay located?

Under the hood on the driver's side is the fuse box. Outside of the main fuse box is the relay box. It contains 3 relays. The first one on the left is the fuel pump relay per my repair guide book, closest to the front of the vehicle.

with back seat away and cover open, when starting,no doupt, you should hear the pump,

fuse box,check power,
and....also check relay under stering wheel,is fo alarm,but...aso happens....
