a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: sunroof will not close
If you hear motor hum than it's probably a bad rail part. I have the same plastic rail part and both sides broke. Can't find a replacement anywhere.

SOURCE: Hi there, My 1997 Toyota
hi this could be a couple of things, first thing i would look at is the relay for the sunroof, locate the relay either in the fuse box, or around where the sunroof button is, and replace it, this should be very cheap, some cars have an emergency hand winding system if the sunroof gets stuck open, its normally under a cover on the roof lining in the front, just use that to close it, and then it might actually work after as this might just be a stuck cable, but if its a broken cable this could work out expensive to get repaired...but check out the first two things and see how you get on...hope this helps
