    Hi ya me again.

I took this car to an auto electrician to find the fault which he did Fuse 6 his way of fixing it was just to take it out.

This is obviously not satisfactory and I now have to get him a book and try and decided how many hours I should be looking at for them to find the fault @ $88.00 an hour.

I will order one of these books and take it from here, many thanks for your assisitance in this regard.

Fuse 6 I assume is for Shift Interlock, Speed Control and DRL Module.
I would suggest you to clik here and get yoursel a full service manual for your vehicle. It's $27 so I think Its good value As I'm usualy paying £30 for one service manual.

Alternatively I'm uploading files HERE for you to download. But this is 1997 model, but you still going to find it handy. When you will finish downloading tell me so to dissolu@gmail.com and I'll remove it from site.

Update me if you need any more help.

Good luck

Parasitic drains are tough to find most of the time. There are no free site's to get diagrams through but you would benefit from a chilton or a haynes manual from your local auto parts store. Once you have that then you can determine what all is on the leg that the fuse controls. Once you figure that out then that will narrow your search. Start by process of elimination. Disconnect everything that is on the circuit and monitor the battery. Start reconnecting the components on the circuit until the drain reappears and then repair the failed part. Hope this helps.

Yes the diagrams in these books have very good descriptions of all the wires and the components. If you have trouble figuring them out just read further and they explain. Just remember that this is a tedious type of problem and can become very frustrating. If you cant find it don't beat yourself up about it because it is tough.

Short draining the battery, removed the 5 amp fuse for backup, solved the problem with the short but no radio or clock memory and no Radio volume. Where could my problem be?

Try eliminating radio from power system by removing fuse behind radio or positive supple to radio. Replace backup fuse and check if drain still happens. If so, your radio may have internal power short and needs to be replaced. If not, shorts maybe along the the supply lines after the fuse.

Battery drain, fuse #12 in 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

On the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee the # 15 fuse is the IOD circuit. (Ignition Off Drain) The # 12 fuse is the power windows. Both fuses are 50 amp.

This IOD fuse #15 powers the distribution box that contains the 50 amp fuse. Pull each fuse in the under hood.

Pull each fuse in the under dash. Check for on the passenger side floor is an additional fuse panel.

Before going to far suggest at night checking for any lights lit. The draw is about right for a small light bulb.

Typical draw for parked car is around 100 milliamps

Suggest that you disconnect power to the car for several minutes. Reconnect the battery. The object is to reset the body electronics module.

If the computers in the modules get a glitch they can cause a drain. By cycling the power, disconnecting battery, they will reset to factory settings. Reported it can take up to 20 minutes for the circuits to drain before you can reset!.

the following web site does a great job of explaining all that is going on. What appears to be simple to troubleshoot is not so easy. He comments about delay before sleep are important. Testing after overnight may result in a different drain rate. Make sure that your battery meets specifications. In 2000 the drain rate may be relatively high and the reserve capacity of your battery low.

96 Suburban has no power to the starter switch & other electrical problems

You may need a shop to look at it, or get a used shop manual from Ebay to get the necessary wiring diagrams. The problems could be related, such as the key switch or the main wiring harness.
You say the dome light fuse is draining the battery, is one of the interior lights staying on ?

You have not told us what type of vehicle it. Please do.
A clicking sound seems like a relay. Open the fuse box and locate which one is clicking the identify it from the labels on the fuse cover. Replace the relay. If the replacement behaves the same then check the component that is supplied power by the relay.

My sister has a Caliber and the windshield wipers work once in a while. I thought it might be a faulty relay switch.

Hve you checked the fuses in the fuse compartment? Look and your owners manual and find the fuse diagram and look for the fuse and see if it is burnt.

"An Integrated Power Module is located in the enginebcompartment near the air cleaner assembly. This center contains cartridge fuses and mini fuses. A label that identifies each component may be printed on the inside of the cover".

If you do not have one one can be found here:
