SOURCE: 2000 GMC Sierra 4.8L V-6 - AC blows warm air

Yes, Depending on where that belt runs in your setup. If it runs to your a/c compressor, it has to pull the compressor pulley to circulate the freon through your a/c system. If your a/c compressor is not pulling, you will get nothing but hot air.The a/c compressor is the heart of your a/c system. From the sound of it,replace that belt and it should be fine.Hope this helps.Have a good day.(p.s. you always want to keep dex-cool in your vehicle being that it is a GM vehicle after 2000)

What is the poss!ble cause for AC not to fountion

White smoke means the engine is burning oil. Cause of smoke can be worn piston rings and worn valve stem seals. In any event, continuing to drive it that way will run the engine out of lubrication oil. AC not functioning can have many causes such as loss of freon from a leak in the system, burned out clutch on the compressor, failed safety pressure switches ro a burned out relay or a fuse.

Bought a 02 impala. engine replaced 2-3 years ago. ac only cool on the passenger side and only getting about 10 a gallon and once white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. Any ideas on these issues??

You have 2 faults here. Get a good local mechanic to run through a few basic tests, cylinder compression, oil in the water, water in the oil. Rough running. My guess the head gasket has gone because white smoke is usually water in the engine.
Your AC is down to a further investigation.

White smoke from air vents while ac was on,greasy film on window while defrost is on/heater coil?

Yes. The heater core is leaking bad. The white smoke is the coolant and steam. Be sure to add water to the radiator before you burn up the engine.

White smoke coming out of vents

i don't think it's a good idea to inhale that white smoke, whatever fluid inside the A/C is poisonous, get your AC fixed immediately. From what I can gather the evaporator inside your compartment leaks fluid and the heater core and fan blows it up your nose. I could be wrong but if that white smoke is the same as what comes out of the receiver dryer then it is quite dangerous.

Smoke and spraying sound coming from hood

Either hole in cooling system (radiator, hoses, etc.) or leak in the AC system. If its is a hissing sound its probably spraying some form of pressurized fluid.

you say your furl mileage is good,so I'm thinking your engine is tuned, and you say you engine temp is good. How many miles do you have on your engine?from what your saying it sound like your timing belt could be going bad,the teeth on the rubber belt could begning to wear and cause the belt to slip out of time just enough to cause your problem.

Rpm drops while adling causing 'grinding' sound while white smoke flows from behind or below radiator.

You should replace the cooling fan. With the ac on and no cooling fan, high pressure builds in the condensor and compressor bogging the engine down. When it gets too high a relief valve dumps and you get what appears to be white smoke. It's actually freon, hence the smell. I've replaced several PT cooling fans with the same symptoms.

Bmw325I started it up and thick smoke started coming through vents into cab

Was the AC on when you started the car? And was there a hissing sound when it happend? If so you were leaking the AC systems R-134a refrigerant into the car from the evaporator.

White smoke from air vents

Could be an incorrect refrigerant charge or defective pressure switch causing the evaporator to freeze and the air flow over it is causing the ice to melt and the resulting white smoke is condensation
