Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Alero
Fast idle, up to 2000 rpms
when in gear, leave off brake, goes 30 mph.
Just fixed mine today, check the vaccum tee off the manifold to the check valve, mine was cracked, repaird with electrical tape for now.

I'm not sure if you've found the answer to your question yet...but i'm having a simlar problem with my car it could possibly be the Throttle Position Sensor. Simple explanation from what I understand it tells the engine how much your pushing on the gas pedal and if this peice is off it can send misreading to the engine causing high idle. I replaced it in my car and it works fine now. Park was $30~ at Auto Zone.

Check that there is nothing caught on the throttle cable or around the throttle body or up under/above the gas pedal. it can happen that things get caught and do not let the throttle close all the way... my friend had a walnut stuck under the throttle cable making her car rev way up.
