I had the same thing on my 96 sedan deville and it was the sway bar bushings. Everyone said it was the stabilizer link bar but I replaced those a year ago with the good $160.00 (2) ones. I bought them at caddy, auto zone, murrays, advance, none of them had the originals so please don't waste your time with that **** if they are bad. My bushings cost 65.00 at cadillac. Hope the info helps.

Same problem with my 96 cadillac, don't be a fool like me, or anybodyelse and replace things such as RADIATOR, THERMOSTAT, WATER PUMP, HEATER CORE, HOSES, RADIATOR CAPS, RADIATOR FANS, And don't waste all of your money on coolant like i did. It is either Head Gasket, or Head Bolts pulled. I have replaced everything above and more, and still overheats, just as other people said and told me HEAD GASKET and i did not listen, now i wasted all of my money on stuff that did not need to be replaced. I'm sure you have a Northstar? Like me? One of the worst engines ever built in my book. Sell it quick if you do not have the money to fix it with, which is very costly. Or get a 4.9 which is more stable.

SOURCE: how to get the parking brake off
The parking brake manual release lever is underneath the dashboard,on the left side.
Position yourself so that you can see under the dash, you should see the mechanism with a small metal lever.
Also, if your parking brake does not release when you put it in gear, the vacuum line is either blocked, kinked or disconnected, or the vacuum diaphragm on the release mechanism needs replacing.

There is no need to purge the air out of the cooling system as it is self purging on the northstar engine.
The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line. It's job is to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank, this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating. If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank or trace the hose further back until you locate the blockage.

This is important. The ride control keeps the Air suspension inflated. You will bend suspension parts without this system.
You can check the airlines to each suspension bag by using a mix of soapy water sprayed from a hand spray bottle. With the car idling, doors shut, the suspension should try to level the car. You will need to go underneath the car for this test.
There are Diagnostic plugs for this system. It takes a better Scanner to read the info. Some Autozone, Advance, and Oreilys parts stores may have a better scanner on a store to store basis. The tests are free.
There are many components in these systems. Even the doorjam switches, and trunklid can affect the performanace.
