Question about 1999 Nissan Maxima
About 1.5 yrs ago I started to have intermittent trouble starting my 1999 Nissan Maxima after it had been sitting in the hot sun (~85+ degrees F) for a couple of hours. It starts on the 1st to 2nd attempt, but the engine takes a long time to ''catch'' after I turn the key (sorry I don't know the correct word). No problem starting during cooler weather (I live in southern Illinois). This year the trouble is more regular and I'm having some difficulty with it after it has sat in the garage for a few hours/overnight. The alternator and battery were replaced in early May, but the problem still exists. A mechanic has looked at the car, but he has no idea what's wrong with it. He told me to bring it in while I'm having the problem. Duh. Of course he apparently has no trouble starting it while it's in his lot. Any suggestions? Thanks!
