Question about 1998 Buick Regal
I have a 1997 Buick Regal and for the past few years the car just wouldn't start every once and a while. It would happen in the winter, summer and time of the year so it isn't affected by temperature. But recently while driving the car would just turn off. Originally we thought it might be the power steering because the steering stops and it happened all three times while turning right. The other day I was driving and just going straight up a slight hill and it shut off. I had enough momentum to pull to the side of the road. I turned it off and tried to restart it but it took a few tries to get it to restart. I have been reading around and think that the problem may be with the crankshaft coil or something?? Any ideas??
I have a 1997 buick regal gs 3.8 supercharge
the car would not start some days and it would quit while running. the instrument guage lights would come on and when i turn on the turn signal the guages would go crazy and the buzzer would sound. I replaced the ingition switch for 102.00 from auto zone and that fixed the problem

Gm products had a lot of problems with their pcm's and that's what they would do.
It is located on the left side of the engine compartment, by the air cleaner. Tap on it while it is running and see if it stumbles, if it does, it is the problem. Also, tap on the MAF sensor that is located in the air cleaner hose.Watch for the same results.
