Should work if there is no theft guards inside the doors which would make a slim Jim useless. Pay a locksmith to open the door. They have some specialized tools to get the door open without damaging anything.
Most lock out companies use a long metal rod that is inserted through the top of the door and is then used to push the power door lock button or the lock button. If you gently pull on the top of the door and insert a wedge to keep the door ajar slightly, you can use a coat hanger and manoevere it to touch the door lock button
You probably knocked the door linkage off during the slim jum operation, You will need to remove the inner door panel and re-connect the door handle linkage. Hopefully you did not break the plastic clip.
Removing the door when it wont open is not logical you would have to open the door first yes its going to be tricky but you may need to open the window and try through there if not try a slim jim my guess is your door handle has busted but with a slim jim you are actually grabbing the metal rod that opens it good luck.
A lot of newer cars can't be opened with a slim jim anymore. A good kit uses a small bag that inflates with air to allow a long rod to unlock (electric door locks) These work much better.
