SOURCE: Hi,can anyone tell me how to remove the lock

Hello Mel.
Some of these can be a pain. We all need small hands to work in some places.
Here is the list in the manual.
Front Door Outer Handle Replacement

NOTE: Put on gloves to protect your hands.

  1. Remove these items:
    • Door panel
    • Plastic cover, as necessary
  1. Raise the glass fully.

Remove the bolt, then remove the center lower channel (A) with the center lower glass run channel (B) by pulling it downward.

Remove the screw, and release the hook (A), then remove the lock rod protector (B) by detaching the clip (C).
kiltylake_50.gif
Disconnect the outer handle rod (A) and cylinder rod (B).

Release the retainer clip (A) with a hook- shaped tool. Remove the lock cylinder (B).

Remove the screw, then separate the lock cylinder (A) and cylinder switch (B).
kiltylake_53.gif
Disconnect the cylinder switch connector (A), and detach the harness clips (B), and remove the cylinder switch harness (C).

Remove the maintenance seal (A), and remove the bolt, then remove the cylinder protector (B).

Remove the bolt, then remove the spacer (A).

  1. While pulling the outer handle (A), remove the handle from the holes in the door panel. Take care not to scratch the door.
  2. Install the handle in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
    • Make sure the cylinder switch harness is routed properly.
    • Make sure the connector is plugged in properly, and each rod is connected securely.
    • Make sure the door locks and opens properly.
    • When installing the lock cylinder, leave the outer door handle bolts loose so the inner protector does not interfere with the lock cylinder installation, then tighten the handle bolts.
    • Install the lock cylinder retaining clip on the handle, then install the lock cylinder. Be sure the clip is fully seated in the slot on the lock cylinder.
    • When reinstalling the door panel, make sure the plastic cover is installed properly and sealed around its perimeter.
    • Do the power window control unit reset procedure.
There you are!
Hope you get it done!

SOURCE: How to Remove outer door handle on a 2001 Mercedes

You have to carefully remove the inner door trim, disconnect the airbags and then remove the weather stripping. There are some obvious nuts/bolts & clips that you will see.

Hi, My thoughts exactly ( fuel leak). Is this a deisel or gas engine?
In both cases be very careful with lights or cigarettes.
You can smell it when you get out of car in a garage or stall.
Good luck.

2013 sprinter sliding door will not open

Bond, sounds like the door latch or linkage is faulty. you will have to remove the door trim panel and check to see if linkage is still attached and functioning and if seams OK, you probably will have to remove the latch assy. and replace it, lubricate all latches and links/cables generously. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Hi Craig, There's a screw which must be removed from the back of the molding. Once that's removed the unit is pushed forward to un-clip from the door frame. When that's completed there's the rod behind it which operates the locking mechanism. A plastic clip holds it and is released by pushing sideways. Regards John
