99 FORD RANGER 2.5 ADDED CAN OF CHEMTOOL B-12 INTO 1/4 TANK OF GAS ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AND QUIT

PUT A 15 OZ CAN OF CHEMTOOL B-12 INTO GAS TANK WITH ONLY 1/4 GALLON OF GAS IN IT. WITHIN 10 MILES AT 65 MPH IT STARTED BUCKING AND KNOCKING AND FINALLY SHUT OFF. DRAINED OIL STRAINED IT NO METAL SHAVINGS FOUND. REMOVED ALL 8 SPARK PLUGS MOTORCRAFT FM32 FINE WIRE TIP. GAPS WERE .075 AND .080 ENGINE TURNS FREELY BUT WILL NOT START.

    Yes but I did not put the Chemtool in my son did and I knew nothing about it. I'm gonna unplug the fuel injectors and try starting it while squirting a lilltle gas in throttle body and if it starts momentarily squirt a little more in and listen for the knocking sound it was making before it died. it was

    If the knocking is still there going to find ot where its coming from, hope it was something like spark knock etc...I put new plugs in it and if it is not knocking put new fuel filter in and plenty of fresh gas and start it up and see what happens.

Perhaps you should have put more gas or less
Chemtool B-12 in.Would suggest a top up if you
can get to pump.Should dilute Chemtool enough to run
properly.

Try Spraying Some Throttle plate cleaner into the throttle bore & see if it tries to start?? If Yes Most likely fuel pump died.

SOURCE: 2001 Ford Focus w/166K miles; check engine light

Gas Filter? Then scan tool on it,to look for codes set when check light came on. Most likely a senor is old and out of range.

SOURCE: my 2004 ford ranger 3.0 6cyl has an incorrect gap setting

Depending on the mileage, the excessive gap may be due to wear. It also may be from the plugs not being properly gapped when they were previously installed. I would recommend installing a new set of plugs, and setting the gap to the factory specs.

I wouldn't add anything like hydrogen peroxide to the gas tank, unless you want to destroy the engine. Why not replace the sensor?

A good place to start is 80 percent of the original charge. IE: if your truck took 2.25 lbs of r-12, then multiply 2.25 x .8 = 1.8lbs x 16oz = 28.8 oz.

Depending on the type of service that was done; This can occur when the Computer is not reset (if the car is fitted with one). B12 chemtool is an injector cleaning tool, but remember that it will clean the Fuel Tank, try to clean the fuel filter, the fuel pump, and all of the fuel lines. This can cause the Fuel Filter to be filled up with rubbish from the Fuel Tank, Fuel lines, and the Fuel Pump. This B12 chemtool's job is to carry all of this rubbish through the system and even remove carbon from combiston chamber, and push it all down the exhaust and out of the car.

Gas guage problem


Most likely the sending unit is bad in the fuel tank. The easiest way to get to it is to remove the bed. Taking the tank off is quite a chore. You can unplug the tail light harness and the license plate lights& take the 6 bolts out of the bed and 2 good men can lift the bed off. The fuel tank will be in full view. Take the sending unit out of the tank by unhooking the fuel lines, wiring plug and turn the lock ring counter clockwise and lift the fuel pump and sending unit out of the tank and replace it. Reinstall it and check to see if it is working before you put the bed back on. I hope this is helpful.

change the fuel filter for one, this is telling you that your pick up in the tank is getting clogged, I would drop my tank, and drain it, flush it, and check the pump at that time

I have an 87 ford ranger that hasn't been started in about ten years. It still cranks over but wont start. My thought is to drain the gas and put new in, is there anything else I can try?


the gas goes bad in one year (this comes from the American institute of petroleum), the fuel injectors are most likely damaged and the electric fuel pump and filter will most likely need to be replaced before it will start. so drain all the fuel put in at least 5 gallons of clean fuel, add one can of BERRYMANS CHEMTOOL and hope for the fuel pump to work and the injectors clean themselves out

I have a Ford Ranger that when I use low octane gas it rattles


This could be as simple as changing the spark plug gaps, Also if you have and adjustment on the distributer {not a coil pack setup} you may wish to ****** it about 2 degrees. Remember we are here to help. Good luck

You Definatelly got some Bad Fuel. Get a can of B-12 Chemtool from any Auto Parts Store or Wal-Mart and Pour it in the Gas Tank then Let it Run for a While. Should help Dramatically! Let me know!
