My 1993 Tercel has been having trouble starting. It will randomly not turn over - there is literally no action (not even the clicking noise of the starter) when I turn the key. It will usually turn over after about 6-8 tries. Other times it will turn over right away. It also sometimes stalls when I'm coasting to a stop with the clutch in. Any thoughts?

Re: Trouble starting & stalls when coasting
For starter problem check wire connection at starter, theres a single plug in wire that forms some corrosion clean it and it should work fine after.for other problem is check engine light on or came on,does it idle ok?

Have the computer scanned for trouble codes. If a fault code is set, post them here, or google the code to get descriptions. You should have the fuel pressure checked to see if it is at proper pressure. A weak or tired, old pump just may not be getting the pressure needed. There would be a specific pressure required for your car, but multiport injection is usually about 40-50 psi. If a shop tests pressure for you, they can find your required pressure, and then check for it..
Don't worry about the fan. I think you have a bad temp sender unit. Replace that and see if it helps the stalling also. If not, go for an engine analysis. They will check for trouble codes and check engine sensor functions.
I don't have the solution, but I have the same exact problem on my 1991 Escort 1.9L with auto with 120K miles. I replaced the IAC with no difference. In fact I unplugged it, and still had the random stalling. Also disconnected the EGR vacuum line...still stalled randomly. After it stalls it always starts right back up again. Sometimes it will act as if it's going to stall, but comes back to normal idle. Park or Drive makes no difference. Acceleration and all normal driving is fine. The next thing I was going to try is hooking up a timing light and watch to see if the timing light stops flashing as it's stalling, and/or hooking up a fuel pressure gauge somehow, to the fuel rail, to see if the pressure drops when stalling....to figure out if its ignition or fuel related.
