John Deere LT133 not starting

This is a common problem. The saftey interlocks are most likely keeping the tractor from completing the starter circuit. See the attached diagrams for curcuiit.

If off tracter ther park brake set switch must be closed along with thwe PTO off switch closed.

My John Deere 970 utility tractor clicks when I try to start it.

I would suspect the starter solenoid is defective.

John deere will not start

this sounds like a starter may be drawing too much amperage causing the clicking only, or it could be a starter solenoid.

Car doesnt want to start. all lights come on when in the on position however when I turn it to start nothing happens it dont even try to turn over it just clicks 2002 hyundai xg350

The starting system consists of:
  • starter motor
  • starter switch, part of the ignition switch
  • starter motor solenoid relay switch
  • starter solenoid
  • starter drive
When you turn your key to start your engine, it just clicks, right? If so, more than likely this is due to a bad battery. Even though your battery may appear to be fully charged, it may have a dead cell, or worse. If you get a jump, does the vehicle start? If so, replace your battery.

Possible sources of the problem if the engine does not crank or the relay clicks:
  1. Battery
  2. Starter motor
  3. Starter motor relay
  4. Ignition switch
  5. Damaged fuse
  6. Anti-theft system
  7. Circuitry

When i start my van it just clicks and wont start

Start with making sure your battery is good (12 Volts). The other issue that could be is a bad starter and will need to be replaced. The clicking noise you hear is the starter solenoid working to activate the starter, once the starter has gone bad. It will not turn the engine, you might want to try to start the engine with another car boosting the battery. A weak batter will not have enough cracking amp to turn the starter, even though you have 12 volts.

Good luck and you can buy a rebuilt starter at Auto Zone, they will also have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done.

Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

I put in a new starter and it still won't turn over? when i turn the key it does nothing no clicking no nothing. The battery good. what else should I check?

The ignition switch controls the voltage to the starter solenoid. Check the fuses for the ignition. When the switch is turned to "start" you should see +12 on the starter solenoid connection. If not (and you won't based on your description) potential issues are neutral safety switch or the ignition switch itself.
If there is any alarm system on the car this could interfere as well.

I have a 1993 Suzuki Sidekick 1.6 MFI with 16 valve. How do. ... The lights work, radio, everything else works, but the car won't start. ... no clicking, no sign at all that the ignition or starter is even...

possible open starter motor...with 12 v test lamp, check for 12 v signal to starter solenoid small wire when turning the key.If it lights your starter is open. This is providing your battery is good and charged and the cable is secure to big starter solenoid lug

1991 Nissan 240SX starter will not turn!

If you've applied 12VDC to the solenoid and it does nothing, not even click, then the solenoid is toast!

When you turn the ignition key to start the car what happens? Do you hear a click form the engine compartment. If you do not hear a click, that means the starter solenoid is not working. If the starter solenoid does not energize that there is no voltage applied to the starter. So..... even though the starter has been checked out as good, it cannot work if the starter solenoid doesn't work.

Hope this helps
