Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

Starting my 2008 BMW 328i it immediately stalled. I tried starting it again and this time it stayed running. Then the service light came on. Could this because my small vacuum leak or a dirty sensor?

I would disconnect battery for 20 min, refit negative lead and start vehicle. see if MIL light comes on. If not, carry on.
If light is still on then take your car to be scanned by someone who knows what they are doing. Please dont just guess, it will cost you a fortune and you will get very frustrated. It may well be a simple glitch that can be cleared.

Same problem with my 2005 300c. It's happened five times to me, including stalling on the expressway. I looked at the posts. Too many differing views - without a real solution. Talk to three Chrysler mechanics and got three different "solutions." As much as I love this car (bought new June 2004), I'm ready to get rid of it and get a BMW or a Benz.

SOURCE: Just replaced my front disc brakes & sensors on my 2008 328i BMW

That warning light is only supposed to come on when they touch metal, and when you take it away from the metal, it is supposed to shut off. You might have to pull a lead off the battery to get it to reset. Check the sensors, make sure the tips are not touching anything. Then do the battery thing.. Hope this helps.

Code p0335 crankshaft 2008 BMW why code 2a94 & long cracking?

Ok! Both codes have to do with the Crankshaft position sensor. The P0335 means that you should replace the sensor, the 2a94 tells the pcm what code to display for the problem. Here is somthing you can do to make sure the sensor is really bad: If you unplug (or lose power to) your PROcede while the car is running. Or tried starting it while it wasn't plugged in fully, you will throw that code. Just clear it and see if it comes back. If it reoccurs while the car is driving, then you might have a bad Crankshaft position sensor.

1997 bmw 328i not starting

Come on give us more information. Think if you were trying to fix your own problem and you had to explain the problem to someone else with exactly no knowledge of what's going on.

1st off....a key with bad electronics and reader will open the door and that's it.

So that being said does the key turn the engine? If so the key, the program and ecu are ok. Say the engine cranks but doesn't start. Fuel pump. unscrew the access plug on the fuel rail and see if any fuel squirts out. NO......don't ever do this when it's hot..........not that yours is because it doesn't run but I had to say that. The millisecond you turn your key over to get it to try to start...the fuel pump comes on and pressurizes the entire fuel system.

Got fuel pressure, the engine turns but still no start= ignition spark plug engine computer problems.
