Hummer ac problem

My ac works but the only vents that have airflow are the defrost vents. This happened after I had some leaking from the front map lights. Any advice?

Vent control mechanisn may not be working , as have had water leak may have damaged the direction control switch so i'd strip out the heater control panel and check the connector for the direction control

2000 envoy my heat was working but it made a loud whistling noise now it wont comeon at all hodo u tighten hose

Not an easy fix - sounds like either a heater/AC plenum control diaphragm started leaking, or a vacuum hose to one of them has popped off at the actuator or at the heater control, or the vacuum line developed a leak somewhere between an actuator and the heater control or the engine. You can try to pin down by checking airflow out of the defroster, ac and heater vents - if airflow is normal in each position, the problem is probably the heat/cool control actuator, the line from it to the heater control, or the heater control itself.

Why center AC vents blocked? all others fine

The flap that directs the airflow between your front defrost and those Center vents sounds like it is become disconnected from your control

Air conditioning will not switch from defrost vents

Vacuum control motors are used to position these airflow control doors.
SECTION 412-01: Air Distribution and Filtering 2000 Expedition/Navigator Workshop Manual DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Procedure revision date: 06/17/1999 Air Distribution There are two sources of air available to the air distribution system:
  • outside air
  • recirculated air
Recirculated air is only used during MAX A/C, AUTOMATIC (if equipped with EATC) and OFF modes.
Air distribution within the vehicle is determined by the function selector switch position, if equipped with manual A/C, or is controlled by the electronic automatic temperature control system in the AUTOMATIC mode but can be overridden by the driver if desired. Airflow control doors are used to direct airflow within the heater air plenum chamber. Vacuum control motors are used to position these airflow control doors.
The air distribution system is designed to provide airflow from the defrost nozzle when no vacuum is applied to any of the vacuum control motors. This is done to prevent a situation where defrost cannot be obtained due to a system vacuum leak.
Air enters the passenger compartment from the:
  • instrument panel A/C registers.
  • heater outlet floor duct.
  • windshield defroster hose nozzle.
  • side window demisters.
  • rear seat airflow duct (if equipped).
Passenger compartment air is exhausted from the vehicle through open windows or cab air vents.

The airflow on heater/ac on 1999 f150 v8 switches from the front panel to the top of the dash under acceleration. What could be the problem?

Most of the time the air flow changes with a vacuum, to switch for vent to defrost to feet, it takes a vacuum to switch over, so if it does it on its on it's most likely a vacuum leak under the hood. I hope this helps.

If this happen only after you replace the battery, then you need to go look around where the battery is at, maybe a vacum line came off, vents work off of vacum.

If I am reading correctly you are hearing the vent doors moving to redirect the airflow to the vents you choose. This is normal and can be more noticeable if the blower fan is on, putting air pressure against the doors.

Check the vaccum line at the vacuum distribution block (to the right of the brake master cylinder). It's the smallest vacuum hose.

Loss of a/c air through front vents

You have a vacuum leak. Engine vacuum is used to move the doors that control airflow for the heat and ac.
