Question about Holden Astra
normally in a black box under bonnet near the battery towards the bulkhead. Its a 40amp relay i think. take it out and look at the pins, two will be large and two will be normal size.
Also check the fuse in car fusebox.
Maybe best to have car scanned and clear dtc codes first then rescan afterwards to check.

SOURCE: fuel pump
A quick way to check and ensure that the relay is the fault is too bridge the relay which will activate the pump continuously.
The relay is located in the engine bay and is in the fuse/relay plate box on the upper right (if looking at engine from front). You will then see 3 relays on the left hand side of the box and the fuel pump relay is the front one of those 3.
Remove the relay and you'll then see a 3x3 grid of pin inserts that look like "+". Now number these '+' like on a phone keypad and using a pin or any conducter small enough to fit into the inserts bridge the inserts 4 & 8.
+ + +
4 + + - Fuel pump relay
+ 8 +
This will cause the fuel pump to run on full time, determining the relay as being faulty. Let me know how it goes and il guide through the next step if unsuccessful. If so then you could be looking at possibly wiring faults or more! Best start with the cheapest option I think!
Hope this helps!

this is usually the sign of crank postition sensor failure. If you can keep the engine going using the gas pedal then this is probably not your problem. if you can hold down the gas pedal a little and the engine runs, then clean or replace your idle air control valve _ or IAC.
