Question about Chrysler Crossfire

My chrysler Crossfire was in flood and won't start/Wire harness

I have a Chrysler Crossfire 2005 Convertible. Unfortunately it was flooded closed to a lake in my house while it was not running and i really don't want to let the car go. I took it to several mechanics and it seems like they don't really want to help me diagonise the wire Harness issue. Some Charged me over $200 and still didn't tell me anything. The only thing they told me was to sell it the car that it will never Run. When you turn the key, the Dashboard light comes on, the spoiler opens but nothing happens. I am trying to figure this out myself. How many Computers are in the Chrysler Crossfire? One of the Mechanics said that he was able to Talk to two of the computers and they were throwing error codes.Which of the Computers will make the car start?PLEASE PLEASE Be my hero. I need some help here!!

You won't get ANY HELP anywhere in the world

Most vehicles that go under water a scrapped

Your correct & if you think about it,how long would it take a
repair shop to get it going & at what cost to you,not worth
their while.

You now have a hobby to work on

You need to go to Helm.Com & spend whatever the cost of
a factory wiring diagram book is

You will need basic electrical knowledge & testing skills & will
be there a few weeks, I would guess.

You will also need professional scan tool software or you can't
work on any vehicle after 1981

Testimonial: "It was not all the way inside the water. It was mostly the trunk side of the vehicle. I am just hoping that the car will drive again. What if i change all the computer after checking them all? will it start. Which of the computer helps to send sparks to the plug?"

I gather you have no automotive experience as you only change parts you understand & know how to test Your issues will be water in wiring harnesses that may have blown fuses & if you don't get all wet items dried out quickly you stand little chance of being able to diagnose things once every wire & connector is dry I don't see you doing anything until you say you a complete factory wiring book & have past experience with testing an automobiles electrical systems working off diagrams

SOURCE: car alarm preventing car from starting

Try removing the alarm system relay, some car alarm has also a fuse on the alarm that you can remove.
Many car alarms unlock by inserting and turning car key while you connect the battery.

SOURCE: car alarm preventing car from starting

1999 CONCORDE: check the battery terminals probably they are not tight enough...something like that happened to me just the lights turned on and the car seemed to be dead, the battery is still ok since then. I just needed to buy new terminals.

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

SOURCE: 05 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible top

Try using urethane sealant to redo the seal between the top and the glass.
I have a VW convertible that had the same problem. The sealant comes in a tube that you use in a caulk gun. Made by 3M and I purchased it from Advance Auto. About 18 bucks.

I'm having the same trouble with the flooding after warm start...if it's the temp sensor, would the temp gauge be working? It's in a 1991 Chevy van with an injected 350 carb.

Went to buy an 05 Chrysler Crossfire Convertible from a used car dealer. He was replacing the spring in the key fob. When he tried to start the car, the engine turn over then stop. When tried again nothing...

Try using a code reader to reset the CPU and have him reprogram the key correctly as well. Personally I would not buy a car from this person until he had everything fixed properly.

Convertible top is up. D-ring turns but I cannot push up to open the top. Windows go down OK but I can't even get the top to release from the bulkhead.

The latch mechanism is broken. The D-ring is attached to a round shaft with two plates that hold sockest. The socket fits a ball end of a rod.
When you twist the d-ring it pulls/pushes rods and opens/closes latch on each corner above windshield.
You will need to pull all inside trim around inside of windshield and interior light to access the mechanism. Or try to squeeze hand between fabric and header to get rod balls back into sockets to release top so you can replace mechanism.

Stereo removal guide for a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertible

Gently pry the surround using a plastic tool. There are two catches on the top and two on the sides at the bottom.
With the surround off, you will see the screws holding the stereo.
If there are preamp jacks in the back, it is eaxy to add an aux post using an adapter cable. If there are no input ports, you will need an oscilloscope to find the preamp circuits inside the stereo. Only do this if you know what you are doing and are good with an oscilloscope and soldering iron.
