Question about 1991 Lexus ES 250
Vehicle is overheating, replaced radiator hoses, still overheating, we think that the thermostat is stuck, but cant find it
Hi, Most of the time you can follow the UPPER radiator hose to the engine and there will be the thermostat housing. On Reverse Flow cooling systems you follow the LOWER radiator hose. All the thermostat does is trap coolant in the engine until it reaches a certain temperature, then opens to the radiator to be cooled. Don't forget to bleed the air from the highest place in the cooling system. Sometimes that's the reservoir, but look for a small plug high on engine. Good luck

No you can get to them by using an extension on your rachet with a rotating socket. Play around with the extension and rotating sockets to see which works best.

You need to check timing belt. could have broke belt. Also you should look at water pump if you replace belt.It is driven by the t-belt.

Try blowing the radiator fins out (from the inside) with compressed air--bugs and other debris can clog the air flow. Do the radiator fan(s) run when hot? If not, check for blown fuse, seized fan motor(s), bad relay, or bad engine thermal sensor. Is it losing coolant water from somewhere?

Yes, you could replace just the heads, bu i don't think they are the problem - it's much more likely that the head gaskets have failed , they are the ones that you should replace first.
