Question about Cars & Trucks
Has to go to a shop & you drive the car with a mechanic
& have a chat about the issue
That person has to have a scanner on the car to look at
& collect data & actually find a place to start some testing
Is there anything there I said you didn't know or haven't done before!

Bring into dealer, you may have a safety issue with vehicle. But definitely bring into chevy dealer and have vehicle checked out.

SOURCE: 2006 Chevy Equinox
Hiya...the factory-installed keyless remote control are installed in most Equinoxes IF SO equipped with this option that year.
However, it's difficult to get "true factory-installed" keyless feature in your Equinox ....but new 2008-2009 Equinoxes built this year now comes with standard keyless remote and yes, new option is remote STARTER feature (that option is identified by a black wire found inside the rear-right quarter window with thin metal line surrounding that interior window to receive signal from remote starter fob)
At least you can find after-market keyless remote control at your local retail store.

from the service manual:
There is no onboard programming procedure for this vehicle. This vehicle requires special equipment be connected to the vehicle to program the keyless remote. Please go to the nearest GM dealer for assistance

SOURCE: There is a loud noise at 45mph.
Find a quiet empty stretch of road. Go 50 mph, put the trans in NEUTRAL and shut the engine. If noise is still there, swing car left and right to detect noise differences. Could be hub or axle bearings. Not engine or trans if noise is still there. Hope this helps
