SOURCE: the fan motors keeps running after car is shut off. Also sometimes fans start when car is started cold.

If the fans didn't run any further the engine continues to warm and possible seizure will occur. This is also the reason you will probably go through batteries in the long run. Hopefully this helps the issue you are having.

SOURCE: shaking mazda mpv 2003 in idle and loud radiator fan

Hello there, As far as the check engine light I would think since you mentioned it shacking that your light will probably be on for a misfire, Meaning most likely you have a spark plug wire going bad. I would stop by somewhere such as Autozone for a free check to tell you why your light is on just to double check.

Your fan issue could be several different things such as the fan motor going bad or the blades could be rubbing something, that one is a little tricky without hearing it.

Good Luck and I hope this does help you some. Allen

SOURCE: replace oxygen sensor in 2003 Mazda six

It is just threaded into the exhaust manifold , or pipe close to the engine. You just unplug the wire , and thread it out. They can sometimes be quite hard to get out. If your car is a V6 , it might have one on each side.

Auxiliary fan not kicking on (it has 2 fans, the driver's side cooling fan and the passenger side fan that runs intermittently that comes on when a/c or when heat is set to defrost setting stopped com

It won't cause any overheating, that fan is only suppose to come on when the a/c is on. Since it's cold, it's not going to come on because the engine has at least 2 sensors that tell the temp and it can see it's not needed. Now, if you turn it on during the summer and it doesn't come on and your a/c doesn't work, you may have blown the relay or your a/c may be low/out.

How do you remove the manuel brake cable from the rear caliper on a 2003 mazda protoge5 so i can install new calipers?

It is pretty obvious it seems to me.
The cable has a cylindrical lug on the end, that is caught by the 2 hooks on the parking brake arm of the caliper. Once the caliper is off and the tension reduced, it will come right off.

My 2003 mazda mvp starts to overheat when in ideal or stopped traffic. What could some of promblem be? thank you PC

Hello PJ.

Usually when this happens the electric cooling fan on the radiator isn't coming on.
As you are moving air is going through the rad cooling it. When stopped or moving slowly there isn't enough airflow so the fan should come on.
Possible problems are a blown fuse, something jamming the fan blade, bad motor for the fan, bad wiring connections, bad relay or a sensor not detecting proper temperatures.
If the fuse is blown something caused it to do so, most likely a jammed fan or shorted out motor.
To begin, check the fuse, make sure the fan isn't jammed up with something, check wiring for shorts and bad connections.

There are the possible problems as you have asked.

Thank you for using FixYa.

2003 Mazda Protege5. Cooling fan on radiator is not running. This is the main fan on the left side of the radiator.

First, check the relay for the cooling fans. Not sure about Mazdas but Fords have two coolant temperature sensors. One for the gauge or light on the dash and one for the fan relay. Check and make sure the sensor hasn't went bad or come unplugged. If these don't fix it the fan itself may be bad.

Hi,
I'd get a second opinion from another diagnostic tester first, before I dive off into something. Seems to me, your car would be flat-lined with this info you provided.
Are you sure you are overheating? Just curious...
Hope this helped... SHARP car by the way.
