Why is there a clicking noise by fuse box under hood?

Why when car is off there is a clicking noise under hood by fuse box. If I disconnect the battery is goes off other wise it drains the battery. When I go to start I have to push the gas pedal down. It is fuel injected. The heater blower motor is disconnected and wires are hanging down could this have something to do with it?

Relay clicking in the fuse box or relay box near it, find which relay and the problem associated with it. The gas thing is from the ECM being reset, it has to relearn running the motor.

My 2003 Denali won't start I turn the key and just get a fast clicking noise good battery new starter and all power works

Where's the clicking noise coming from ? Under the dash , under the hood in the engine compartment ? Do starter circuit voltage drop test ! When the key is in start position is there constant B+ voltage at the 10 amp crank fuse in the under hood fuse box ? This is an input to the PCM - engine computer to energize the starter relay ! Starter Voltage Drop The battery is good , starter is new ,what about the cables ? watch this video on testing starter circuit !

I unplugged my battery and I can hear something ticking fast, when I pull out fuses under the hood (main fuses) noises change..

could be the solenoid on the starter motor clicking, or sometimes there is just enough battery power to put lights on but higher drain items just click on & off trying to cut in, test the battery output voltage should be at least 12v to start, a fully charged battery will be 13.5v, under 12v is no good.

How do I check for a short when battery cable is connected

The clicking noise from fuse box is probably a relay! Nothing happening could mean anything! Without turning the ignition can you turn on headlights, does the inside light come on when you open the door, horn work?

no if something is disconnected it should not cause a problem but one of the relays may be stuck, what you can do is feel and see witch one is clicking and do a switch see what happens

Why is there a clicking noise from fuse box under the hood

Check relays inside fuse box to see which one is clicking....feel the relays to see which one it is, then it will tell you what circuit this is controlling. Either a bad relay or an electrical problem with a component, motor or something.

2001 Nissan Frontier makes clicking noise when trying to start

It's very possible that a wire connection came loose and makes connection when you jiggle the fuse box. Be careful when working with the box as wires may come disconnected then you'll be in big trouble not knowing what goes where. Hope this helps.

Headlights won't turn off

The weird noise is the relay for the headlights. You need to locate the relays and replace them. They are in the fusebox that is under the hood.
