Question about Nissan Altima

1 Answer

Why is my 93 Nissan Altima losing power?

When I start to accelerate from a stop, sometimes my car will "hiccup" a few times and then it will start to go. Also, when I am driving it will do the same, but not as frequent. My rpms are great in p and n.

Hmm, try checking your intake hose on the air filter, you might have a leak causing you to lose power.

95 altima 2.4L stalling problem

Sounds like it could be a vacuum problem somewhere in the system, which when you reach a certain speed (or any depending on the leak) the computer feeds the engine more or less gasoline, making the engine stall.
There's a few other problems that could be causing this as well. Bad fuel mixture (bad gas), there could be a crack in the fuel line, which is letting in air thus causing the fuel pump to lose its prime.
Do you receive any error codes/any 'check engine' lights?

Did the car stall out? If the car stalled out she would have had to step hard on the brake to get the car to stop. When a car stalls you loose the power brakes causing most people to panic and step too hard on the brake causing them to lock up. If the car overheated there should be an inactive code in the ECM. Bring the car to an Auto Zone and they will scan your ECM for free. Good Luck!!

1993 Nissan Altima Gearshifter or Transmission problem

Sounds like a neutral safety switch in problem #1 and a sticky or faulty solinoid in problem #2
The tranny has quite a few solinoids that are electronic which sometimes burn out or fail with high mileage.
Hope this helps
