Well to answer your question what made the gas go "Bad" does it have water in it ? if so yes i have seen water fill cylinder so engine will part ways turn over and "lock Up" water is Non compessable so that will do it

but if none of this occured , No, sounds as if you have a weak battery or bad connection on one of the wires

SOURCE: My 1997 chevrolet suburban will crank up, but when

Possibly fuel filter needs replacing. If fuel system is not getting enough pressure it will not start or will run poorly.
Also may want to check distibutor cap and rotor

My 1997 gmc 1500 suburban will not run but it pulls no dtc codes on the cpu

My 97 Suburban had a similar problem. Would not crank on a regular basis. Replaced spark plug wires, plugs and rotor cap. Vehicle cranked and ran just fine, plugs were in poor shape. Checked fuel pressure, above 55psi with engine running or just the switch turned on. Immediately after switching engine off the pressure would bleed off to "0" PSI. Otherwise everything OK. Problem solved, so I thought. A couple days latter I had to make a road trip from Mobile, Al to Fort Meyers, Fl when cranking problem re-occurred after approx. 100 miles into trip. I stopped at parts houses on the way to ask questions and to obtain their best ideas, at times it would take 30 minutes before engine would again crank after making a stop. I replaced almost all of the sensors. Finally made it to Fort Meyers that night. Next morning vehicle was dead would not crank no matter what I tried. Fuel pressure OK. Only thing left to replace, Fuel Injector spider system. Problem solved.

I have a 1997 Chevy Suburban. Yesterday all four windows have stopped working. I was told it was a fuse but that is not the issue. What is the problem? None of the windows will move!

Sounds like your power window relay went bad.

Suburban slow to start. Turns over, but won't crank. Must "bump" the starter 6-10 times (easing off the ignition switch quickly) ...only way it starts. Then runs good and cranks good after...

I ASSUME you have a 5.7L engine? 2 things could cause this, maybe more. but I would start with the crank position sensor, and then replace the distributor cap and rotor.

Truck cranks but won't start

i really need more info like what you've tried to remedy this problem but an engine only needs 3 things to run spark, fuel, and air. one of those things could be your problem. i would go with fuel pump thats the most likely suspect. turn key on and listen by your gas tank if it hums its working then you have to make sure gas is getting to the motor.
