Question about 2004 GMC Envoy
I am trying to add Freon to the low side port but the hose isn't connecting. It keeps popping off when I turn on the can.

On the large AC hose that connects to the receiver/dryer which is on the passenger side up close to the firewall.

If I remember correctly if you look at the back side of the fuse cover, it should tell you what the fuses are. Also in the owners manual in the index, under fuses, it should give you a diagram of the fuse location for the acc. outlets. Good luck. The fuse should be a 20 or 25A fuse.

If it does it when idling I would suspect an IAC motor (Idle Air Control). If it is opening too slowly the added air the motor needs will not be supplied fast enough and the engine will kill.
It could be other things also but this is where I would start.

If the compressor will run turn it on and let it run for a few minutes, the line that gets cold is the low pressure side, this is usually the one closest to the firewall. The reason that they are 6 inches apart is that they are on opposite sides of the orfice tube, hence one is high pressure and one is low.
