Hi...Hard time with your Dodge it understandable, First check your Cable on your battery.. make sure it solid and clean .. also check your connection at your starter see if you don't have any broken wire ...Solid connection it very important when it time for the battery to delevery hi current to the starter.. fresh connection terminal also help for a solid start in the middle of winter... for the fuel gauche that different ... check first on the fuse panel check on the cover for reference for fuel gauche..see if the fuse is burn out... if not you may experience to take off the gas tank and look for broken wire.

Need to replace the starter on a 1997 dodge grand caravan

to remove the starter from motor you need to disconnect the battery negative wire from the battery. then remove the battery wire and start wire from solenoid. remove the bolts holding the starter to the transmission bellhousing. then remove starter. installation is the reverse of removal.

Starter 1997 caravan se

If you dont have a lift , you will have to crawl under the car and work on your back, there are 2 bolts that hold the starter to the transmission housing and then there are electrical connections for the starter, you should disconnect the battery before you do any work.

with most front wheel drives you must remove the passenger tire and reach through to the starter bolt with an extension and if I remember write with a 15 mm socket you can reach through and take out the bolt

Disconnect alarm

if it is aftermarket then all you have to do is disconnect the wire to the alarm that has power constantly going to it. if it is factory then you will need to make sure you tie the starter kill wire back into itself so you have a continuous circuit and not a broken one so that the car will still start. factory alarms are always a pain to locate where the starter kill wires are but usually the are near the steering column.
