SOURCE: bose 6 disc cd changer
Sorry to tell you, but I had to send my whole unit in. They sent me back the discs and had to install a new unit. Mine was still under warranty. Best of luck!

Hi, this is a common issue within car CD changers. the load motor go through lots of trauma during the life span that i usually 3 to 5 years. the load motor operates everything in the changer. it works the load tray and spinning of the disc as well. when this motor is out, the changer will be rendered useless. replacing the load motor will fix this issue or, you can just purchase a new changer and save a lot of money.

Apart from a service call, some have experienced positive results by removing the negative battery cable for 10 minutes to reset the stereo. It may be worth a try before bringing it to a shop. Good luck.

Not as easily as you'd think! Your Bose speakers and amp are made to recieve very low output from the dash (1 ohm), so rca lowlevel outputs are a must, or youll blow your system! and dont even think about running your HU directly to the speakers either ( I know they sound great, but they can really only handle 5-10 watts MAX)
Make sure you get the harness adapter that has rca outs. Youll need to find a deck that has 2 pairs (or 4 total rca outs)! Because stupid Bose makes everything difficult...
Dont get the generic one from walmart (for hondas, and nissans 1994 and up) or from bestbuy (theyll outright lie to you, and then charge you double for everything!)
Your deck shouldnt power you speakers, so let your factory amp do that... itll sound better, but this work around isn't the best. If I were you, I'd just shell out the cash for some cheap new speakers. CHeap speakers would sound WAY better with a new head-unit that does not integrate your bose system at all. Plus, itll save you a lot of frustration. Bose systems are notoriously finicky with aftermarket systems anyway.

most common cause is a dirty or bad optical pickup in the unit, it may be able to be cleaned but more common is the pickup is bad.
