just imagine that one wire is what matters cause the black is ground i could be ground to the chassis or to the main harness ground. (The positive wire from the pump should go to the inertia fuel shutoff switch this switches off by impact. then to the fuel pump relay and some how its. switch by the computer and the ignition switch

The black wire is ground, the pink/blk goes to fuel pump and sending unit.
if you follow the pink/blk wire it will go to the inertia switch, the other wire coming out of inertia switch is orange/lt blue, that wire goes to fuel relay, that's located on right (middle) fender

Have 88 f 150, turn the key and the pump in the gas tank has no noise. there are some pulled wires by the transfer case, broke by frame, that don't color code to anything. need a color code diagram of wire...

the nain fuel pump power on mos fords was PINK or RED. But 1st check would be the anti-rollover switch (Usually up near the kickpanel). If that has tripped, pressing the reset button will restore power to the pump.

Fuel pump

there is three pumps one is mounted to the frame and one is in each tank. i know they are in the tank , but im not 100% on the one on the frame. you have to take the whole tank out of the vehicle to work on them.what is your problem withthe fuel tanks?

88 jeep trucks fuel pump has bad ground

try splicing in a new ground and see if that get the fuel pump running. also you can test it by applying 12 volts to the fuel pump wires themselves. if the pump is ok it should spin right up. if the connections are good and the fuel pump still doesn't run, it may be the pump itself that is bad. verify that its a always grounded switched 12 v style pump before attempting to test. if the ground wire just bolts to the frame or the cab then its a normal grounded system. some of the pump are always live and switched by applying a ground.
