SOURCE: changing wiper motor in chev s10

It's not bad. They make a special tool to remove the motor from the arm assembly, but with a little determination I was able to remove it with out the tool. If your wipers aren't working try running power to the motor first to test it. I swapped it out and the problem ended up being a bad ground in the switch. I bypassed that for a little while by running a jumper wire from the engine block to motor. It also could be the pulse module they are known for going bad in GM vehicles.

SOURCE: I have a 92 chevy S10 truck, how do you remove the

GM S10/S15/Sonoma Pick-Ups 1982-1993 Repair Manual Blade and Arm - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figures 1, 2 and 3)

  1. Matchmark the base of the wiper arm to the linkage. This will assure the arm is installed in the proper position. If the arm is being replaced, transfer the matchmark from the old component to the new one before installation. This can be done by placing the new arm on top of the old one and copying the mark.

Fig. 2: If no wiper arm tool is available, use a small prytool to depress the spring

Fig. 3: With the spring released, pull the wiper arm from the linkage
  1. Most wiper arms are retained by a spring clip. Some are equipped with a release tab at the center which should be depressed to release the arm. If no tab is provided, use a small prybar or a wiper arm removal tool such as J-8966 to depress the spring and release the arm. Remove the arm from the vehicle.
  2. Some late model vehicles (all 1993 and some earlier models) are equipped with a wiper arm that utilizes a small release hole at the base of the wiper arm. If equipped, insert a 1 / 8 in. drift pin into the tool access hole to release the locking device and allow the arm to be easily pulled from the transmission. If necessary, use a gentle rocking motion to remove the arm.
To install:
  1. Except for late model vehicles equipped with the tool access hole, align the matchmarks and gently press the blade over the linkage and snap into position.
  2. For 1993 vehicles (and earlier models equipped with the access hole on the arm) straighten the arm assembly and insert the pin. Align the arm with the linkage mark made earlier, then press down on the arm's head casting until it seats and locks onto the wiper pin. Remove the drift pin.
  3. Operate the wipers and verify proper alignment.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Washer fluid is probably frozen, have you checked the fuse for the wipers? There should be an overload protection in case the blades stick

I need to have 'step-by-step' instructions for replacing the driver side windshield wiper arm on my 2000 Ford Explorer. Can you help me with this?

  • Turn your wipers off, using the stalk on the left side of your steering column. Turn your ignition off and remove the key.

  • 2

Pull the wiper blade up to lift it to the service position. Pull the front part of the blade down to position it at an angle.

  • 3

Pull back the lock pin on the center part of the wiper blade (where it connects to the wiper arm). This unlocks the blade from the wiper arm.

  • 4

Grasp the blade on each side and pull it down (away from the extended wiper arm) to release it from the "U" clip.

  • 5

Repeat the process for the other wiper blade, if desired. Removing the driver's side and passenger's side wiper blade is the same.

  • 6

Install the new wiper blade. Open the lock pin on the new blade, and then insert it into the wiper arm "U" clip. Close the lock pin and lower the wiper blade to its normal position.

I need to know how to remove a 1987 chevy s10's windshield wiper, not the arm but just the wiper. cant find a release switch and am thinking i need to force it off

Use a small screwdriverslide it between the plastic of the wiper blade and the top of the wiper arm. There is a tab that holds the blade in place, you should be able to gently pull the wiper back off the arm.

How do I get the old wipers off my hyundai 2000 elantra wagon and put on new armour all wiper blades?

The old wiper blade assembly can be pushed out of the end of the wiper arm. Depending on the blade, you may need to use a screwdriver to depress a locking tab on the blade assembly. The new wiper blade snaps into place on the end of the wiper arm. Also, your new wiper blades usually come with diagrams/instructions. Check them.

How to change rear wiper motor?

Take the metal Wiper Arm up off the window.
These are held-on by a "U" clip on the Blade which is snapped into the "U" shape of the metal Arm.
On the Plastic "U" clip is a Release Tab.
Press the Release Tab while pulling the Wiper Blade (not arm) out of the "U" of the Arm.
Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!
FYI: Sometime the Arm and/or Blade gets bent or warped, causing it not to make full contact with the window. People change their Blade, only to find out their Arm was warped. Inspect this and adjust the Arm (gently) if this is the case.

How to get the old wiper blade assembly off 87 S10 Blazer

With the pin style blades, if you look into the top of the blade at the point were the pin goes through, you will see what looks like a spring or a coil on its side. Use a small screwdriver and push down on that coil at the same time that you try to push the wiper off the pin. I have changed more of these than you can think of, and they are never easy, you have to get things in just the right possition before it will come all the way off. Once you do one the other will come off easier. One word of caution, don't let the wiper arm slip out of your hand and smack the windsheild, it can break it.

How do i change the wiper blades on my 2000 mitsubishi mirage?

if you go to an auto parts store they should be able to help you. Otherwise take your wipers off by pulling them towards the base of the wiper arm. then take them into the store where you are buying the wiper blades and match the lengths. then purchase and reinstall them by reversing the first instruction.
