Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

Who should pay for removal of ash trees (threatened by the emerald ash borer) that sit on property that is a condominium homeowners association?

Our condominium association has 12 buildings and a total 38 units. Seven buildings are 4-plexes and 5 buildings are twin townhomes. The buildings sit on a cul-de-sac or relatively small plot of land that has 46 ash trees marked for removal. The estimated cost per tree removal is $1,000. Some buildings have a half dozen ash trees surrouding them while other buildings have few or no ash trees surrounding them. Legally, who should pay for the removal of the ash trees? Do only the members whose buildings have ash trees surrounding them pay for "their" ash tree removals, or should all members of the homeowners association share "in common" the cost for the removal of all ash trees on the property?

SOURCE: bumper estimate

If this car is a second car why don't you find out if a shop would bench repair the bumper? You could take it off, have them recondition the part and then you reinstall it.
If you have time and luck there may be a twin car to yours in a Salvage yard. With even more luck it may be the same color. It may be good enough to bolt on without repainting.

Air suspension light was on then there was a loud noise like something heavy had dropped in the trunk so I stopped and noticed that the rear of the body was sitting down on the back wheels

You will find that the rear air suspension hose has failed. To check, wieh the car running listen for a loud hiss. That is where the leak is. Take it to a dealer you pay $200 plus. Fix it yourself, fifty cents.

Chanses are the leak willbe at the drvers side rear connector to the shock. hope that helps

There are 3 little bulbs on the back of that cluster. They are easily replaced providing you can source the bulbs. There are 2 white ones - one on each end. And a green one that goes behind the A/C button. To access this cluster, remove the ash tray to reveal 2 phillips screws. Remove these and set aside. Next, in the gauge cluster over the steering wheel, there are also 2 or 3 phillips screws. These are in the top. Remove and set aside (duh). Now, starting near the ash tray, begin tugging the dash. It *should* start to come loose. It will makes some noise, but its pretty sturdy.

Keep in mind there are a few wire harnesses attached. Don't go all He-Man on it. These harnesses are easily disconnected and reconnected if you unclip them the way they are intended.

You should now be able to see the heater AC cluster. There are a few philips screws around it. Remove them. Pull out the cluster and rotate it around to reveal the back side. There you will see a little round disc with a slot in it. The slot may be painted or highlighted with red. With a small slotted screw driver, give this little disc a GENTLE quarter turn. You should then have your culprit bulbs in hand. They resemble Christmas tree lights!

It seems that these bulbs are hard to find and are most likely dealer only parts. I have seen some LED replacements in a few places online that may work, but I would prefer something of the OEM variety.

Replacing front fender

My son went around a curve one night and hit a tree stump that was in the middle of the road. It put the front bumper under the truck, busted the radiator, the framing brace that supported the radiator and the A/C condenser. There was even wood in the frame from the impact. He also needed to replace a fender from a previous accident. After getting everything installed on the engine, they had a problem putting the fenders back on.

The passenger's side fender fit perfectly except where the hood was hitting in one spot. The fender was about 2 to 3 inches too high and the guys were threatening to take a hammer and beat it down. But after getting a stronger light and searching the frame of the truck from all angles, they found out there was still one bolt that needed to be removed. Once it was removed, the fender went on smoothly. They didn't get to use the hammer like they were threatening!
