SOURCE: Interior dome lights stay on.
I would ask a clarification request but it can't be done for this format. Anyway. Does the car have any type of aftermarket add on? Alarm, remote car start?
The Bonneville has a very sensitive electrical system. If there is an add on device there's a possibility that it has failed. There's more to installing an aftermarket device in a Bonneville than a simple install in a 'normal' car.
Another thing to check is the trunk and hood lights/switches. It's possible that the switch is broken or failed and is causing you the problems. Check to be sure that the trunk light and under hood light turns off when closed. They do take quite a beating over time.
Hope that helps.

If the key has been taken out after you were driving it this is natural. The radio and Power Windows and interior lights are on a timer. It allows you to shut the vehicle off then, as long as a door hasn't been opened, it gives you time to put the windows up or finish a song or what ever. The interior lights should go off after the door is closed after a few minutes. There is a built in timer for those as well. If the vehicle is running and this is happening you have a short, except for the lights they should come on anytime a door is opened.

Probably the door light sensor. I fixed on on a Ford F250 on time doing the same thing. It fixed it. It's trial and error to know which one though. Unless you take everyone apart and unplug one at a time. It is behind the door latch on a Ford.
