SOURCE: i have a 2000 ford f 250 1-cyclinder booth brakes

It's at the top of the brake pedel. There is a switch that is held in place by two nuts, it has come loose, make sure that when you tighten it up, it is being pushed up by the pedle, the when you press your brake it completes a circuit. That willl turn your lights off

SOURCE: can I put a 1981 ford f-150 motor in a 1991 ford f-150 truck

Sounds to me like you opened a can of worms that you are not equipped/qualified to deal with. To begin with, doing an engine change the way you did it is illegal. It is OK to put the newer motor in the older vehicle, but it is against federal law to put the older engine into the newer vehicle. REFERENCE: EPA ENGINE SWAP FACT SHEET

With all that said, if you want to do a swap like that, it is necessary to also swap wiring harnesses and computer modules (among several other components) if you expect it to work.

I have a 1981 Ford f250 Having a issue with my brake and turn signal lights they blow my fuse every time

One of the most painful troubleshooting tasks is to find where a wire has been rubbed through and is shorted to the chassis. You will need to follow the wires from the tail lights all the way to the switches and find where it's gone short.

My 1981 ford f100 brake light comes on when I come to a stop but goes off when I start accelerating?

check the brake fluid level, there is a float in the resavor when you stop all the fluid moves to the frount of the resavor causing the float to drop and turn on the light. fill the master cylinder with DOT 3 brake fluid.

1982 ford stepside. no brake lights. tried putting a wire to the blinker wires and to the taillight wire from the the brake pedal. nothing works. i have a tail lights, blinkers and reverse but cant get...

Check the brake switch on the back of the brake pedal up behind the dash it should have to wires going to it and will be about 2 1/2 inchs long and threaded. one end will hit the brake pedal on the back side it will look like this >L where the arrow points you will see the switch it will have a quick disconnect on the back of it, and if you take a paper clip and install on the back side intot he wire harness quick disconnet swith look to see if the brake lights are on. If they are on then the switch is bad. to replace it has a half inch lock nut you can back off 1/4 turn then unscrew it out any parts store will carry it. It lists for 14.95 it could be the turn signal switch too. Now this is assuming you checked the fuses also this has two buttons on it and it may be the plug is loose. here is the web page the brake switch is at the bottom and the turn signal switch is about midway. This has a picture with it and price as well. Thanks for using fix-ya

Brake lights will not come on signal lights work new master cylinder in a 1966 ford 1/2 ton

there should be a brake switch either in the hydraulic line some where or on the pedal up under the dash . that is most likely what is bad

Rear running lights and brake lights wont work on my 1981 ford f100 new bulbs and light switch what do i do next

I'd start probing with a test light, or continuity test. Try in & out of your brake switch at pedal, if power there, follow harness outside & down under, and work your way back, or start at plug under, at rear bumper area,or above, near axle probably, & work forward. If you use continuity tester, run a jumper wire from wire going from switch at brake pedal (wire that doesn't have power until pedal pressed.) long enough to reach the back tail lights & see if continuity is there,at back of socket, or in socket, then work forward from there. My guess is that when you find the bad spot in that wire, you'll find the other too.
