How to repair sunroof

Clean track guides and lubricate with a dry lubricant such as graphite. Make sure all tracks are secured and reset screws as appropriate. A good cleaning tool is an old tooth brush. Simple fix

SUNROOF CHRYSLER 300 NOT CLOSING PROPERLEY

Lubricate the sunroof sliding mechanism with some spray lubricant/greece .
If the roof closes properly with the engine running, then check your battery voltage.
If your roof still doesn't close properly, then check the wind deflector strip which pops up when the roof is open. It should be held in by clips, but may have come unclipped, or bent.
If none of this helps, then take out the roof lining and inspect the inner workings, motor and gear.

Fixing my sunroof in a merceds 300E

Lubrication of the Sunroof in the 300E is a part of your regular service schedule. Mercedes Sells the correct lubrication grease.

See HERE for some semi-detailed instructions and places to get the grease and whatnot.

As usual when working with motorized devices, make sure to disconnect the fuse for the sunroof, or the battery from the car, to prevent injury and damage.

Sunroof will not open

I think there is a good chance that the left side needs lubricating and the channels lubricated with a colorless non oil substance. The motor is probably working too hard and it burns it out. Darrell S

08 SRX Ultraview Sunroof hard to close. The sunroof opens fairly easily but the whole car shutters when you try to close the sunroof.

Try spraying silicone lubricant in the groove that the rear brackets slide in (from the mid section of the roof to the rear).

Does a 1990 bmw 325is have a sliding sunroof

I Might be wrong but sometimes then sunroof and shade must be lubricated every few years. maybe thats why it wont slide up but depending on the option the first owner put into the car. some sunroofs in these models do slide back and some just til.Because the moonroof is glass the interior parts get extreamly hot under the sun light, this might be the problem.

2002 hse freelander sunroof motor buzzing at certain points

My sunroof has played up as well and it is all down to lack of use. The lubrication LR use for the guides and the drive mechanism appears to harden over time causing the mechanism not to work correctly. There is a light oil available from LR to lubricate things but in my case the lubrication already there was like a grease so after opening the roof and then protecting everything with cloths, I applied WD40 through its nozzle to the sliders and the spiral drive mechanism and then operated the sunroof a large number of times giving it a manual helping hand. Eventually it worked ok.
