SOURCE: water pump replacement

First, I'll tell you what I used to tell customers that did this: Do you bring your own uncooked eggs to the diner?
The cost will vary... each shop charges a different labor rate. Without encountering any unforseen problems, I doubt if the cost will be more than $140 (excluding antifreeze). But, when approached with this while running a shop, I used to also add the "markup" I would have made on the pump as well... after all, why would a shop want to do the same job and make less than they would normally??? So if they charge you 20 or 25 more $, dont be surprised!

SOURCE: cost to replace rear main seals on 2001 jeep gr. cher. ltd.

Actually yeah you are in luck that combination only requires dropping the oil pan. The seal is actually fairly easy to do it yourself, if your inclined. Parts about $20.00 and it's book rate is 5 hours. around here shops charge around $85/hour. About $500.00 out the door or under $50.00 if you want to get greasy. Here's a good picture guided step by step on a Jeep CJ with a 4.0 liter, yours is pretty much the same:

My 93 jeep grand cherokee is not getting fuel...if I disconnect the negative post for awhile and then reconnect it, the jeep gets fuel and will run....what is going on?

If the check engine light does not light up on the dash when you turn on the ignition, at those times when your jeep doesn't want to start, then your main jeep ecm is in need of repair. The fuel pump relay will get energized only after that check engine light comes on. It's a known problem, especially with the first and second year production Grand Cherokees, 93 and 94.

I cant find the obd plug in on my 94 jeep grand cherokee laredo and my jeep will turn over but is hard to start what would cause this?

It does not have an obd11 connector, it's too old. The extended crank time could be a couple of things though. I've seen problems with fuel pumps, fuel pump relays and crankshaft sensors. How many miles on it? Has the fuel pump or filter been changed before?

Had 94 jeep grand cherokee to mechanic last week and they replaced the fuel pump seal for $200. Noticed the gas gauge wasn't moving 2 days later. 6 days later, jeep shut off while driving and towed back to...

yes, are you sure that you did not just run out of gas, because the gage was not working? it sounds like they may have not gotten the fuel pump module back in the tank properly that would explain the no fuel gage, also when they had the pump out they may have damaged the wiring to the pump that could cause it to fail.

I have a 94 grand cherokee put 2 fuel pumps in and both only lasted about 60 miles and quit workin what would be burnin them out?

If the inside of the tank is clean and the pump is not being forced to drink garbage, the only things that can cause that is running with very low fuel, a poor ground or a breakdown of the power lead that appears as if the pump is bad but it just isn't getting sufficient voltage.
It is possible for a pump to fail if the charging system is overcharging, but generally that will cause other problems as well. Running volts should never go higher than 14volts.
It's also unlikely that you have just gotten a bad batch of pumps...it does not often happen but it can.
Far more often it turns out to be one of the items I mentioned, so check all those first.

94? I'd start looking towards a fuel pump. Listen for a 2 second buzz from the rear. If you don't hear it time to shop for a new fuel pump.P.S. Rarely is it a fuse.......

94' Jeep Gc shuts off while driving. wont restart for hours!!

Sounds like either the fuel pump is going bad and overheating, or, the crankshaft position sensor is going bad...both items will give similar symptoms. Both are not terribly difficult jobs but are time consumers. Before doing either repair, you need a code scan and better diagnosis than I can give you here without a hands-on examination. Fuel pump can be diagnosed by spraying carb cleaner into the throttle body while cranking in "no start" condition. If engine fires up then stalls it's a pump problem. If not then it's a spark control problem.
