SOURCE: transmission codes:

I WOULD TRY REPLACING THE INPUT SPEED SENSOR..A DEFECTIVE SPEED SENSOR CAN CAUSE ALL OF THESE FAULTS..IT IS LOCATED IN FRONT OF TRANS ABOVE SOLENOID PACK..IT IS THE ONE CLOSEST TO THE ENGINE..IT SCREWS INTO TO TRANSMISSION..A 1 INCH SOCKET FITS IT..ALSO CHECK WIRING TO BOTH SPEED SENSORS..A SENSOR IS ABOUT 35 BUCKS,AVAILABLE AT YOUR LOCAL DODGE DEALER..GET A NEW ONE AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE..FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM..HAVE REPLACED LOTS OF THEM

Diff ratio. On a 1994 toyota 4 runner v6 petrol ??

6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.30 ratio 4x4, 6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.56 ratio
4x4, 6 cyl, 4 wheel ABS, 4.88 ratio there are a few options. you will need to figure it out or look at the code panel in the truck. if you want to figure it out. you will need to remove the cover from that axle and count the two ring gears and then divide the numbers to get the gear ratio. for example if one is 40 and the other was 11. would be 3.72. so here is the trick to counting the gears. they are covered in oil so have a pan ready when you pull the cover. and use a marker or crayon and mark a tooth on the gear ring. then count the gears and you will know where to stop when you get back to your mark. the little gear will be harder since its in the back. you might have to turn the wheels and you will need it in neutral and jack the rear end up. as always use jack stands to prevent damage to you or the truck..

Interchangeable parts

Yes, as the only difference i see, is that the 2000 models have dual piston calipers, stiffer springs, larger rear spring spacers, and different gear ratios. You might have to swap your gears out of the 2000 into the 97, and use your 2000 springs if you want to retain your original ridehight, I think the calipers are interchangeable directly.

usually 3.83 or 4.10 . theres a metal tag that held down by one of the cover bolts. the first set of #'s indicate the ratio... ringpinion.com and allpar.com are great sites to refer to...

2001 dodge v10 struggles to pull 8000 lb travel trailer has50000 miles equipped with 355 rear end

Assuming that engine and trans are operating properly, and tires are not over sized beyond OEM, installing a numercially higher ratio gear set in the rear axle may be in order.

I am not a tow guru by any means, but 8000 pounds is a pretty good chunk. Swapping in a 4.10 gear set or even 4.56 should make quite a difference.

Expect to pay $800-$1200 parts and labor for the swap. If your truck is 4x4, you will have to change both front and rear gears so the price is about double.
