does the engine sound like it is turning over faster than usual?

did it just not start or did it stall. Did this happen after you changed the spark plugs?

99 Mazda 626 2.0 changed starter 3x's. No start

Well it could be an engine problem, or a bad connection with one of the battery cables. The engine would require more voltage to crank when it is hot, but not that much.
You might want to have someone check the engine to see how much drag is has when hot, by turning the crank by hand.

01 Mazda 626 I4 not starting after overheat/head gasket replacement

I would almost have to be there in person to advise.
I doubt anything happened to the starter as a result of the engine overheating.
One of the pistons or cylinder walls could have warped when it overheated which would cause a difficult crank, but you should have noticed it when you turned it by hand.
Its possible the timing is off, even possible something broke after you got it all back together.
I would probably start by pulling the plugs and making sure it is not a compression problem. Also try turning the crank by hand to see if the engine is tight.

check connection to cam sensor. sometimes corrosion will cause a poor electrical connection. clean as needed. otherwise you may have to replace the sensor.

My 1983 mazda 626 wont turn over, I have changed the battery still wont go, the light which looks like the handbrake signal with the exclamation sign comes on, what does this mean?

It sounds like either the starter or ignition switch is bad. The easiest way to check which is at fault is to look at the dash lights when you go to crank it over. If when you crank it over the dash lights dim slightly, then that tells you that it is probably not your ignition switch. I would then look towards the starter being the problem. Possibly just a wire loose or off. If when you crank it over the dash lights do not dim slightly, then it is probably your ignition switch. Hope this helps.

98 Mazda 626 Won't Crank, Won't Jumpstart, no power on anything

Either one of your cables isn't getting a good enought contact on the battery or solenoid, or the solenoid is bad, or relay for starter is bad.

Hard starting in the morning

it sounds like 1 of two things either your starter relay is gone and you need a new one ,they arnt that expensive or its your hold in winding in the starter motor this is a bit more expensive but can be changed quite easily.
