Look on the oil cap or in the owners manual.

SOURCE: Someone told me about synthetic oil and that it

Hi!!

In your owners manual you'll find the manufactured recomended oil which is 5W30. Synthetic oil will work and protect your engine twice as long as regular oil. I use synthetic on my wife's car so I don't have to change it as often.

The choice is yours. Don't forget to rate this answer.

SOURCE: i don't know what oil to put in

well that's up to you. how many miles does the car have? and what type of driving conditions do you drive in. the best bet is to at least go with a semi synthetic it will give the better protection then a conventional but won't be as high as a full synthetic. a semi synthetic is better for stop and go traffic and short trips. and if you have high mileage it's better to go with a high mileage oil to help stop leaks and to give better deposit protection.

SOURCE: my 1997 cadillac deville, northstar w/85, regular oil changes, burns almost 2 quarts of oil every change. It is not leaking.

If your car is losing oil, and if there is no evidence of oil leaking, there is no question that it is either losing it through piston rings or through the head (head gasket or valve guides).
Best thing to do is use a HEAVIER WEIGHT oil than specified for the vehicle when new, regularly monitor your oil level and be sure it never falls below one quart low, and consider having the engine overhauled when you start noticing a performance deficit or hear mechanical noise (such as rod knock) from the engine.

I would check with an oil/lube co on this issue.I personally would not.Sometimes when you change blends a vehicle will start burning oil.

Can I use Mobil 1 sunthetic oil for the engine of 2005 1.8SE Nissan Sentra?

Sure, the only issue is oil comsumption. If you put the oil in and start to consume too much oil, consider HIGH MILEAGE Blend. These oils are both synthetic and regular oil. Casteroil and others make this oil.

What synthetic oil is the best one to get for my 1999 lexus gs 300

AMSOIL or Mobil 1 synthetic oils. Either one. AMSOIL claims to be the best but...in order to meet the standards "all" manufacturers of synthetic oils have to have the minimum oil content mixture to achieve the quality standards.

SJ or SL or ILSAC 5W-30 is the manufacturers recommended engine oil.

What would happen if i used a synthetic blend or a full synthetic oil in my 1994 geo metro even though it has high mileage and used generic oil will it hurt my enginei want to use mobil 1

No it will not hurt your engine at all. Actually it will give you a performance boost and a mileage increase.

But, it will also probably cause some leaks that you didn;t have before. Synthetic oil molecules tend to be smaller than their conventional counterparts and if you have any weak gaskets such as the valve cover gasket or the oil pan gasket it will find a way to leak from it. I would try it and if you experience any leakage you can switch back to conventional.

What type oil do i use

Long story short, on oil, they all work.

Use exactly what is specified on the oil fil cap, or the owners manual, ESPECIALLY the weight (5w 20 wt for example).

If your question was asking about synthetic, that answer depends on how much oil the engine consumes. Synthetic is not forgiving and will make consumption worse. If you can use synthetic, that has to be better.

One other option is syntehtic blend. These are typically high mileage oils, Caster oil makes one...It uses a blend of regular and synthetic, and also helps lower consumption.

What is the best engine oil for the mercedes e320?

The best oil for any car is 5W-30 synthetic, I personally recommend Mobile 1. 5W-30 Synthetic flows more rapidly to engine parts thereby reducing "dry start" wear. In addition, full (not part) synthetics contain fewer additives (they don't need them) than conventional oils. Conventional oil additives "burn off" rapidly (500-1000 miles) after an oil change and sludge accumulates over time as a result.

Synthetic oils use much less of these additives (5% vs 20-30%) than conventional (Dinosaur oil) so there's much less sludge to build up. Synthetic oil also has a more uniform molecule size, this extends oil longevity and reduces running temperature.

I've personally used Mobile 1 for many yeas in my cars and would recommend it although I'm quite sure that other FULL synthetics would offer similar benefits.

Oil specifications

The motor oil from the factory is motocraft synthetic blend 5w-30 for normal conditions and motocraft synthetic blend 5w-20 for cold environments. But any synthetic blend or full synthetic of equal weight will do just fine and you will require 5 quarts of oil. DO NOT USE A THICKER WEIGHT OIL, OIL ADDITIVES OR NON SYNTHETIC. Thicker oil like 10w-30, 10w-40, 20w-50 will not be thin enough to lubericate the tighter clearences of the motor and coventional oil breaks down faster than a synthetic blend or synthetic. And be sure to change the oil every 5,000 miles

What problems can result from switching from synthetic oil to regular motor oil?

This is a can of worms as everyone will have a different opinion. My experience has been no problems at all. The benefits of synthetic are so great that there really is no other choice. The cost is really not that high when you consider that you can extend your service intervals. This oil flows more rapidly when the engine is cold and cold starts are the highest wear cycle the engine sees. Synthetic does not breakdown at high temperatures so it prevents coking around the rings. Seized piston rings cause low compression and oil burning. It won't fatally contaminate an engine with sludge like standard oil. Do a quick google search of "toyota sludge" or "chrysler sludge" Many manufacturers today will not honor their warranty unless you use it.
