This could be many things. A reputable shop (check with your friends that have vehicles) will charge very little to do a diagnostic that will save you tons of headache, and guessing (because anyone is happy to give you free advice when they have no idea what it actually is; read below, my 2 cents).
Muffler shop can check the heat on the catalytic converter for you with a laser thermometer (there is an acceptable range for every vehicle; this is sometimes free at some shops, call ahead). If the catalytic converter is overheating, it needs to be replaced, or, removed (removed in my world is best as it increases performance, and sounds way meaner). I've seen plugged cats actually causing enough back pressure to shut an engine off when it gets hot enough (your freeway travel).

CHECK BATTERY, MAY BE GOOD TO TURN OVER BUT NOT ENOUGH VOLTAGE TO FIRE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. ALSO COULD BE A FUEL PUMP OR CRANK/CAM SENSORS..GOOD LUCK

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick
