I don't have access to a car right now BUT would think that MAYBE it's how it was designed to work. Why? so while parked and or children playing inside car while stationary and key off, out of ignition wouldn't drain battery by constantly pressing the brake pedal, just sayin. Anyway Good Luck.

Brake lights dont work or other lights are ok i change the break light switch i change all fuse but still some 10 dont work what can i do

Make sure you have the switch adjusted properly....If you remove the switch without unplugging it
the brake lights should come on....You have to have the brake light switch button placed in perfect position so when you mash pedal the switch button will release from switch causing the lights to come on.......Be sure the bulbs are not burnt out.....just for a test turn switch on and remove switch from pedal area without unplugging it to check for brake lights........If they are not on check bulbs..........

Igniton key is stuck in switch and won't turn off

Check the shift cable to the shifter to the transmission, and the shifter could be malfunctioning.

Brake lights dont work and shift lock wont allow me to take car out of drive without placing a key inside the shift lock release and still after that the brake lights still dont work

You will probably find a blown fuse to the rear brake-lights. You need to find and replace the fuse. Be aware that you may find that there is a short in the wiring to that circuit.
Check the components closely and hopefully you will find the source. If you have to go further then you may want to look into a short-finder or send it to someone with one. Good luck.

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango 4.7 that ran out of gas in my driveway. I have since put 6 gallons of fuel in it, but it will not start and the gas gauge isn't registering the fuel. Any advice would be much...

check the fuel pump fuse and the relay. check to see if you can hear to pump running when you turn the key to the run pos. open the fuel door and remove the cap stick your ear close to the filler tube and have some one turn the key to the run pos without starting if you do hear anything and all fuses and relays are good get a test light and probe the power wire going to the pump. (follow the harness that goes above fuel tank. if you dont knoe which one is the power wire coming from that little harness just try probing alll of them one at a time.but, every time you go to a differnt wire you must cycle the key off then to the run pos. while the test light is touching inside the wire.
if the light comes on go under the hood and look at your fuel rail there should be a vavle that looks like a vavle stem on your cars tire press it while key is on if it very low pressure replace pump.if it has a lot of pressure you dont have a fuel issue.

I fyou jack the car and removed the tires or if you change brake pads or adjusted the handbrake the light will turn on, try to reset it with a scanner tool or disconect the pos terminal from the bat for 10 sec and replace it. If the light comes on again take the car to a shop for dignostics on the brake system.

Brake light problem

the switch should only have a pos or neg not both the most common is a pos set up, the light cluster will be earth to the body and the live will go to one side of the switch and when the switch is pressed travel from the other side down to the light cluster and the bulb will light up try this set up all so re check the loom as it sounds like it may be earthing some where from switch to light

Hi i have an orange warning light on the but dont know waht it is i dont have a manual it I have a vw passet 2000 the light is a circle with 3 bracket like lines around it in the centre of the dashboard...

On mine i had a circle with some lines around it and it was a brake pad indicator, meaning that the car has determined that you need to replace your brake pads. I have included a link to a picture. your dash may not look like this, but the orange light on the top left is the brake pad indicator light. Hope this helps!
