Question about Cars & Trucks
You have to replace them. Not cheap. Look to a junk yard to get your best price. There are also two or three sensors you have to replace to get the system operational.

SOURCE: Air bag off
Your car has second generation airbags and it monitors weight in the passenger seat. If a child sits in the seat the computer looks at the weight and turns off the airbag so not to deploy in a crash. If you put anything in the seat like a purse or briefcase the computer will think its a baby and turn off the airbag.

Common fault on FORD
Usually due to a poor connection in the YELLOW PLASTIC CONNECTOR underneath the passenger seat.
Just push it together properly and it should clear the AirBag fault

you can not release the seat belts. They are a one time use, kind of like the air bags. the seat belt fire off and they can only be replaced, but insurance should cover that expense.
