Question about 2005 Volkswagen Golf 1.6
Its a 2003 Citi Golf 1.6i With mp9 system,my fuel pump is working and im getting spark, the timming is 100% fine!it actually stays idling when i spray quick start into the intake!so could somebody please help?
Haha. . .injectors don't open for starters (it's like a fan constantly blowing mist through) your lines could be clogged, but highly unlikely cuz that wouldn't prevent it from starting...what makes you think fuel pump is fine(because you hear an electric purr signaling actuator is on and working properly? did you test the line, pressure, compression and then actually di a timing/amount test...im thinking not? you need to power the pump...then see what your actual amount is vs spec...then being eletrical...trouble shoot ignition and throttle body...that should cover all your basics...then you'll have a better diagnostic and can make a more conclusive fix?! (I cant stress enough how important it is to check the actual output of your fuel pump! )good luck...!!!

-Use noid light, disconnect connector from injector (1 at a time)
-Ask some one to help you crank and
Check power at the wire connector . If there is power there then possibly fuel pressure is low.
-If no power at all then most possibly cause is the Crank and cam sensor. It doesn't produce any signal. (It's bad)

SOURCE: Golf 2 gti k-jetronic problem
First check the filters... There is a high pressure filter near the fuel distributor and a strainer in the tank... Connect a fuel pressure gauge at the fuel distributor... there are 2 test ports for this. One is "system" pressure the other is "control" pressure... you want the "system" port...if no (or very low) pressure then I would suspect the fuel distributor itself... If pressure is good and still no spray from the injectors then either the fuel is very dirty and has clogged the injectors (not very likely except in extreme cases of neglect) or the injectors aren't getting a signal (or an intermittent signal, more likely) from the injection control unit. If none of this helps you will need to get the Bentley manual and follow the troubleshooting steps...;-)

ok could be a few things.
Have you changed the inline fuel filter? these usually have paper filter elements and after a while can be clogged with moisture which blocks fuel flow. The fuel pump will still have good pressure but the fuel rail will lack the flow required and you may burn out an injector as its running too lean. Secondly, the MAF sensor, could be dirty, clean it with electrical cleaner.
I think its more likeylt the fuel filter blocked. Try and bypass it if possible, reset the ECU and try agiain
