SOURCE: Dash Board ligths not working

What year is this vehicle? It might have an ambient light sensor that has failed if it's 90's+,but older it's most likely the dimmer switch. If it's early 80's you should be able to replace it w/o having to removed the dash, just small panel cover nearby.

SOURCE: No dash lights 1995 Jeep GCL

Dash lights are fed through the headlight switch. If the headlights work, then you could have a bad switch. Before you go replacing the switch, get a wiring manual for the car and see if you are getting 12v at the wire that supplies the dash lights. I forgot the color of it.

You either have a blown fuse or more likely the fuse box has corrosion where the fuses fit in and also on the spade terminals. This a very common problem and most people fit new fuse boxes and new terminals to the wiring.

SOURCE: clock, and dome light (2004 aveo)

If the fuse blows when you start the car their is a bare wire somewhere in the wiring system that is grounding out when power goes through the system. Thier is a possibility of it being something else that is on the same fuse. You will have to trace the wires to find out what and where it is exposed. Your switches should be tested also. The switch that turns the light on manually and the one located in the door jam itself that turns the light on when opening the door. You should bring your car to a mechanic who is qualified in electrical dianosis. I hope this helped you out. good luck..... It would be appreciatted if you could rate my answer. tThanks....MIKE-

Hello my right side front nd rear indicators r flashing but my left side indicators is not working. Checked fuses nd bulbs. Still not working. Wat cud be da problem thanks Adran.......MAZDA6 2003

Dear Adrian,
Could most likely be one of 2 problems.
Most common is a bad bulb.
A bad bulb can look fine, but will not work.
Try interchanging them from socket to socket.
# 2 is a bad ground wire.
All cars since the late 80's have a separate ground wire to every light socket.
If a ground wire gets loose or broken, the symptom will be what you are experiencing.
God bless your efforts.

My dashboard display is not working, nothing is showing

i had this issue in my old car, i dont know if same make or model as urs but mine turned out to be a fuse that had popped and was a simple fix, it cud also be down to the software that runs the mini computer in ur cars dash it mite worth takin it back to garage to check these out, but if ur savvy enuf to change a fuse which is easy enuf dun just pop them out one at at a time an check for any blown ones and replace, might also be worth checking the wiring loom between the dash and the sender unit as cud be a case of a wire being melted on a hot engine component an its causing a short circuit in the system sum where, oh and reason it probs didnt show up on the service is cos its not sumthing they actively check for so maybe worth checking wat ive suggested m8

Mr toyota platz is 10 yrs old n its mileage is 83000km,n ze dash board often indicates an engine,n it is running prefectly well. cud u tell me wat ze cause of this signal

Hi Chandmanic, The engine check light will indicate that there is a problem that has been identified by the on board diagnostics management system. Best take it and have a scan carried out to find out what has been recorded. Regards Johngee!0

My dashboard light does not come up.

I'm assuming you mean the backlighting that illuminates the dials and clocks?
If so, do all the other lights, such as on the heater panel, and window switches work?
If so it's just a problem with the instrument panel.
Have you tried operating the dashlight dimmer switch? Sometimes if it's left in the same position for a long time the connection gets a bit dirty (like a crackly volume control on a stereo)
So it might be an idea to work it back and forth to see what happens.
Did this happen suddenly? That may indicate a bad connection to the dash unit.
Give the dash a slap above the clock units (you never know, it's worked for me)
It doesn't sound like a serious problem
The bulbs in the dash do gradually "blacken up" and do have to be changed periodically.
But you don't notice until the last one has gone
Please check for ANY other electrical items not working first.
Electricity can do some strange things in cars.
Hope I've been of some help.
