Question about Mazda Protege
Ive had my charger plugged into my cigarette lighter in my 2000 protege es & it no longer works, the charger is fine but nothing i plug in is getting power, what can i do to fix this ? if its a fuse, what one is it and where will i find this fuse ?
It should be in the owners manual. if you don't have that, swing into a mazda dealership. they should show you for free.

The fuses are located behind the ash tray... pull it out and look on the back of the ash tray...may have a diagram on the back of the tray... let me know how you do.

hopefully nothing serious. if you can, make sure your wires did not burned or got too hot.Visually inspect them. Then, if you have a voltmeter check to see if you getiing power to it. no voltmeter? Go to your nearest auto parts store and ask for a test light. Back to the lighter, if you have power on the wires or wires leading to the back of the lighter, more than like it you lighter burned out. No power on the wires? make sure wire did not get fryed or burned, all wires look good? check fuses again. worst case scenario, can't find problem ? you can run another wire from your fuse box to the lighter.

Fuse box should be located either in the glove compartment, or to your left below stearing wheel. Also check fuses under hood, should be located next to the battery. Double check the GPS, most of them will nox plug into cigarette lighter plug. It could damage the GPS.
