TO REMOVE THE A/C COMPRESSOR YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE EVACUATE THE SYSTEM OF FREON AS TO NOT POLLUTE THE AIR, THE UNPLUG AND UNBOLT THE OLD AND INSTALL THE NEW. RETURN TO WHERE YOU HAVE THE FREON REMOVED AND HAVE THEM VAC THE SYSTEM AND RECHARGE OR JUST VAC THE SYSTEM AND YOU PUT YOUR OWN FREON IN THERE.

Keeps blowing fuse

Most likely the clutch on your ac compressor has stopped working or the entire compressor has seized. The blower will still work, but without the clutch working correctly int won't cool like it should. While possible to replace just the clutch on a compressor, it's generally better to replace the entire assembly.

Noise from ac compressor

That would depend on the problem and prices in your area.
You can call around and ask for the cost to replace the ac clutch and the compressor.
If the bearing in the clutch is the noise, the clutch can be replaced without replacing the entire compressor assembly.

If the noise is the ac clutch bearing you can replace the ac clutch without replacing the compressor on most models.

My a/c is running fine, but when the car is running it is making a loud grinding sound. Can the a/c clutch hub be the problem. Or does the entire compressor have to be replaced?

Not being able to hear the noise myself, I can only guess that it is the bearing in the pulley or the clutch itself is coming apart. Either way these two problems can be repaired without replacing the compressor. Now you can possibly have a compressor coming apart internally and still be cooling but lets just hope that is not the problem. I would place my best guess on one of the first two items I mentioned. I have replaced hundreds of pulley bearings over the years and only ten or so clutches.

I'm getting an intermittent "growling" noise from under the hood on my 2002 Taurus. I've been told it's the "air conditioner clutch" and that the entire compressor must be replaced. Can the clutch (onlu)...

More then likely it's going to be your a/c compr clutch hub bearing, Napa auto parts stock's this item part # 5106WCC. The growling sound is the hub bearing, where your serpentine belt ride's on.

Belt squeel caused by air coditioner cluch bearing how to change the cluch bearing and pullers/tools needed

I take it you have tried a new belt. The Air-conditioner belt driven clutch and bearing repair will cost you nearly as much as a re-conditoned unit. The time, effort and agony is just not worth the trouble of going through any clutch / bearing replacement attempt. (been there done that! And had the right tools!) Ended up replacing the compressor anyway as the internal rollers of the Compressor were the actual problem.

its not a bearing,it is the friction clutch assembly, you'll have to have a shop do that repair or buy another compressor,Autozone and NAPA are less expensive

it sounds as if the Bearing is out on the A/c compressor you can just replace the bearing and save a lot of money but you need the right tools to do this to get your air gap set right on the clutch again i suggest takeing it to a shop you can trust for the repair

Get a rebuilt compressor or waste you money gambling on a clutch. It will have to come out anyway if you want to replace the bearing that is pressed in.
